I bit. This deal was coming and going all day on Amazon's site, but seems to be more consistently available now. I've been on the fence about a new phone for a while (rockin' a Note 5!) and didn't like the camera focus issue on the S20 Ultra. 6% cash back when using a Prime credit card takes care of the tax for me, which is nice.

I think this phone was available direct from Samsung w/ EPP discount several months ago for $850 w/ 8% slickdeals rebate + $200 Samsung store credit, so definitely a sweeter deal, but I haven't seen anything close to it since.

Note that Amazon seems to only be allowing one purchase per Prime customer. I tried getting a 2nd one for the Mrs, but no luck. Got the regular S21 256GB (same price as the 128GB) for her at $599.99.

From what I've heard, it was due to a chip shortage, and the other models were selling better, so they diverted resources to them.

Everyone complains about the exynos running hot. This is the first complaint I've heard about the snapdragon. I have one, and it hasn't ever run hot yet. Also, with the recent updates, the battery life has improved dramatically, as did the camera.

This is a good deal, bought this a few days ago for a lot more. The 256 GB has been out of stock in a lot of places. Even Samsung won't ship until July 7th if you order now. Best Buy hasn't had the 256 GB for order for both the ultra and regular S21 for a while. Lowest price on Amazon (according to the camels) is $999 but mostly pre-pandemic.

There are several ways to improve battery life (reduce to 1080p, lower refresh rate, ect). I just ordered mine so hoping I don't have to come to this to improve what is already a decent battery life.

Not my experience. Pretty happy with my S21U, coming from a Note 20U and Note 10 Plus before that.
