I got a 500 Internal Server Error when posting. It said to try again... so I did. look around It actually posted 7 times, ugh. Working with mod to delete the duplicates now.

This is much better than all previous generations for the simple reason that has sensors to decide when to turn on / shut off. With all previous models, you had to manually decide when air quality was bad enough to need it.

Best price for this model. Amazon etc have it for 600+ (technically, they have the 7740i at 640, but the LCD screen of the 40i vs this 10i retails for $30 more). Sometimes I wonder how Costco does it.

For those of you who were like me and don't have a membership, this cost me an extra 5% non-member surcharge but I was still able to order it for $566.04 after tax with free shipping. I live in Florida so I'm sure tax would fluctuate based on your own location, but still appears to be way under the price everyone else is selling it for.

Smilie I know, right? When I saw the pre-rebate price, I had to double-check it wasn't a Costco-only version with lesser functionality.

I do want to mention that this 77xx series is different from the 74xx series you've quoted above.

Filter replacements run $99. Unfortunately Costco doesn't carry this specific replacement filter.

Paying anything more then $100 for a HEPA filtration unit is just silly. With Blueair units you are getting at most 10 to 15% efficiency gain and a few decibels of sound improvement. Having said that I own two Blueair units from the classic series, bought them when I could get them on sale for less then $200 and I do like to use them during fire season around the house. Just wouldn't pay $300 premium for the units.
