I have this phone and love it. This is a good deal for this phone. The camera is not iPhone quality. It will update to Android 11 after you set it up.

Both my friend and I got in on the last $99 deal. This phone is incredible for the price. Battery last me 3 to 4 days with minimal use, it lasts 2 days with moderate use. It is quick, the camera is above average and the 4gb memory tackles any task I throw at it.

T.F. uses Verizon networks and you need to have the phone "active" for 1 year before you unlock it. FYI. $90 gets you the phone, 1 year of service, 1500/1500/1.5gb(for the year, not monthly) and it rolls over each month. I am very happy with my service and the 1500/1500/1.5g has worked fine for me. They give you plenty of ways to earn free points which equal free minutes, data or texts. 1000 points = 1 gig of data or 1000 texts or 500 minutes. 5 months in and I haven't paid a dime. I have referred 7 people to tracfone and won't ever need to pay for service for at least a year(maybe 2).

Make sure to Join rewards after activating the phone on tracfone site. You can enter a referral code to get an extra 8000 points, which= 8gig of free data, texts, minutes or phone plans. You need someone's code that has already referred 4 people or you will only get 4k points instead of 8k. You can google it or just ask someone on here who has been with tracfone for a while.

Can you add data in a cheap way? TracFone is expensive.
Their data add-on card is $10 per 1.0 GB.

There is also a 1 year card that adds 12.0 GB of data for $199.00

You could also setup a recurring $25/mo auto refill card that adds 3.0 GB.

Is it possible to use another Tracfone SIM in this phone? I need AT&T coverage and am currently on Tracfone AT&T with a BYOP sim. Can I just use my existing sim or is this locked to Tracfone Verizon? Thank you.

Still plagued with the Moto speaker issues of sound going in/out. Spend $60. more and get the Pixel 3 (unlocked for any carrier and zero bloatware) which kills this Moto every which way.

You can switch to their AT&T network SIM if needed, but then it won't qualify for the unlock later on.

I've been using Tracfone for the last four years so unlocking a phone isn't all that important to me. AT&T towers are important though since Verizon has worse coverage where I live.

Same here, I got the E5 just to play around with. Plan to unlock it after a year and use it as another hotspot,..or something. My daily phones are LGs and they're on 8 also. I don't care at all but figured I'd need the 4/64GB eventually. :-)
My LG Rebel 3 had similar specs and I had to start deleting unused apps because it was only 16GB. You need a phone with 32GB at least. My only real complaint is the size and weight of these phones. Do they have to make them this big?

How much hassle is unlocking a TracFone after completing the year of service? At that point the phone is fully unlocked including GSM?

Thanks

I came from sprint and the coverage in my area is 90% better. Also when I traveled out west, the only people getting coverage in remote areas was Verizon, so this works out for me, but check the map and ask your friends to see what works better for you Wink I have no problem with the speaker, except it is loud. You will need to tweak it down, or you will get some glares from people sitting close to you Stick Out Tongue

PS> the phone is heavier due to the huge battery. I am not kidding, this batter last me 4 days with moderate use and left on.

As I said before, tracfone gives you all sorts of ways to get free service. Number 1 is referral program under "rewards". I am up to 60,000 points which = 60 gb, or60,000 minutes or 120,000 texts. Or you can buy three, 1 year service contracts of unlimited everything(12gb data) 19,900 points per year)) Right off the bat you can get 8,000 points if you sign up for the rewards program and use a "seasoned" referral code. once you have joined you can refer people and get up to 12,000 points yourself.

Can someone please post the process of how to buy this phone and apply the service plan that comes with it and apply it to my current Tracfone model?

I have a Tracfone that ends service on 7/3 and would like to keep my current Tracfone service/number and transfer this one year of service to it. I may buy this phone or one of the cheaper models to apply the 1 year of service to it.

Thanks

I have a Tracfone G7 that I purchased last year which should be unlockable next month. I like the phone for the most part except for the wishy washy WiFi issues that occur at the most inopportune times sometimes. I can be sitting within a few feet of my modem at home when it happens too.

For anyone who has this phone have you had any serious WiFi issues?

It should add to your existing service if you choose an existing number (the activation card that comes in the box even says as much.

For unlocking of phone after 1 year of service.

Can I unlock after using the sim that came with phone and the 1 year service bundle or does one have to pay and use 1 additional year after the 1st year?

I read somewhere the bundled 1 year service doesn't count towards unlocking after 1 year. Must be a separate paid service.

Nope, 1 year from date of activation. Technically you have paid for 1 year with the original purchase of the phone. It should be in your Tracfone portal as start and end date.
