The maximum benefit customers may receive from this offer is $70 USD. Offer is limited to one per customer and account. Coupons may only be applied to orders made in the Amazon shopping app for products sold by Amazon.com or Amazon.com Services LLC (look for "sold by Amazon.com" or "sold by Amazon.com Services LLC " on the product detail page). Coupons may not be used for products sold by third-party sellers or other Amazon entities, even if "fulfilled by Amazon.com" or "Prime Eligible", digital content or Amazon Gift Cards.
This doesn't answer the question.
The $70 is clearly only good on Amazon LLC purchases. The question is do you need to make all of the $600 in purchases from Amazon.com Services LLC today to qualify for the $70?

I recommend you use amazon live chat to confirm with CSR.
If you can see riggedveda's screenshot which is in the first page of this post, then you are eligible.

Mine very clearly says I'm not eligible
To anyone who is wondering. It will CLEARLY say you are not eligible after you log in and click the link on desktop view. I logged into a different account (non prime) and it said NOT eligible but then i switched accounts to my main one and it shows me the banner and it's details.

I was hoping to get gift cards counted, this kills the deal for many.
Amazon prime day sales might not be doing well - from yesterday's data. Now they came up with this scheme to push more sales today. A great way to make someone purchase more than they intended to or planned for. Business tactics at its best!

So let me get this straight… I just bought the 256 GB version of the iPad Air and I am eligible for 6% back on my prime card and $70 and $100 discount?
Just remember, if you get a amazon device with this deal and have to warranty it, they'll claw back the full discount if they choose to give you a refund instead of a replacement.
I wonder how this works with pre-orders? It says any ordered cancelled/returned won't receive the coupon, but nothing about preorders. I can easily re-purchase $600 worth of those if it means an extra $70

Get 15 when you spend 200 = 15 / 215 = 7.0 %
Get 25 when you spend 300 = 25 / 325 = 7.7 %
Get 70 when you spend 600 = 70 / 670 = 10.4 %
And yes, you have to include the future purchase in the calculation because these are credits, not discounts.
