People demanded WiFi for their refrigerators a decade ago lol. A remote control is just as useless imho.

But people seem to love this model sooooo much more than the 545 because it's filter is a little bigger.

I own both, here is the rundown:

First off, 95% of people don't need an air purifier. They are for those with respiratory problems, those affected by forest fires, or hypochondriacs and daytime talk show viewers.

C535: This deal. Older model.
Pros:
-Cool magnetic front panel attachment
-Slightly larger filter
-Remote control

Cons:
-Not readily available. Haven't seen a new one on sale for some time.
-No Wifi

C545: The one from Costco.
Pros:
-Goes on sale for $100 with 2years of filters.
-Newer model and readily available at Costco.
-WiFi

Cons:
-Wifi is 2.4Ghz only. People have issues with it.
-Slightly smaller size filter. Still rated the same, thicker or different tread I think.

Bottom Line: WiFi and remote aren't needed. You can set everything on unit. Auto and forget. All air quality specs are the same on both units. I could find no difference in sound or dirt pickup on either unit. You need to clean prefilter often. Costco deal is way better imho as it includes a year of filters ($35 value) and it's Costco so top customer service.

535 also has plasmawave, but what it lacks is wifi, why on earth you need a wifi option for an air purifier is beyond me?

A good deal, but must add that the C545 uses the same filters but adds PlasmaWave feature, basically an ozone generator for improved odor handling. The C545 is $129 at Costco, who also have a deal (until 6/25) on replacement filter pack (1 HEPA, 3 carbon) for $29.995 (for members).

I own two of these I bought at Costco. They are great air filters, and I recommend them. This is a good price for non-Costco members.

Replacement filters can be expensive, but Costco currently has them on sale.

Don't these usually come with 3 filters, not 1?

FWIW, third party warranties on these are built by cost tier and for items under $100 are stupidly cheap.
I tend to break dehumidifiers and air purifiers somehow, so that seems a good deal to me.

I like how they typical Costco sale price is a crazy good price.

It is a good purifier, though.
