Good deal, thanks OP.

FYI

Good idea to do a clean install of Windows every now and again. That's why Microsoft has made it so easy (Start > Settings > Update & Security > Recovery > "Reset this PC") and 20 minutes later you are good to go.

I was able to get Dell to issue a $50 coupon since they wouldn't take off the McAfee / Onsite service. IT was probably $60 once you add tax.

Pretty close recompense. It's good for 90 days, and worst case I'll order something small with it.

Final credits: $50 from Dell, $73ish for cashback, $120 from amex. $240+

For THIS price, yeah, I'm willing to tweak.
Did you call them or online chat?

What is the number you called for? I am in the same boat, got bounced from department to department
I don't have a lot of confidence that I got the "right" department either. I initially called 800-695-8133 to get the refund for the McAfee 12 month subscription. They told me I needed to call 800-624-9896 (technical support they said) to get a refund for the paid warranty. When I called, after waiting on hold, when I finally reached someone, they said I needed to call the warranty department at 800-695-8133 again. When I called that number, and after waiting on hold and then giving my order number, name and situation again, I was told I needed to call another department. At this point, I was pretty frustrated and told the person I was ready to cancel my order. They said they would transfer me to someone who could help. After another long hold, I spoke to someone who again told me I had reached the wrong department. I think my soul may have levitated out of my body at this point as my brain exploded. Somehow I managed to communicated my rage in a way that was socially acceptable enough where the agent said that instead of transferring me, they would keep me on hold and speak to the right people themselves to arrange the refund. After another 20 minutes on hold, they told me it was done. But then call connection problems started and the end of the call was all screwed up so I wasn't sure that they would actually start the refund process. They called me yesterday and left a voicemail (but the message made no sense given that the issue was a refund). Today, they sent me an email saying they are closing my case because I didn't answer my phone so I replied to the email to ask them to confirm the refund and they said the refund was going to be issued (but not tax on it and that is weird because they refunded the tax on the McAfee).

Not a great start, Dell. Way to take the luster off my purchase by making me feel scammed and frustrated before I even received the product. 👎

Love still seeing this live after a couple of days have passed; GPU scalper prices are falling on eBay, and Dell can't quickly offload a gaming PC with a GPU two generations behind and CPU one behind for $800+ after taxes and hidden fees.
After Amex $120 credit and the refunds I received, I will pay $623.24 including tax. I don't know if that dampens your schadenfreude at all. I think that's a decent price to pay for this system given the current market. Now, I may set start setting it up and decide that I hate Dell even more and send it back. We'll see. If I can, I am going to try to reinstall Windows to get rid of the bloatware and I have RAM, SSD and NVMe upgrades to install once I am done reinstalling Windows. Maybe install some fans like some have suggested in other threads for the same system. I am not so confident that I am throwing away the packaging though...

That is very frustrating..but I am glad that you can get the refund in the end. I called the first number and the agent is so rude that he said they are "free" . Due to third party , the said they have to add some charge on those two items and make the total same as the invoice. I tried to argue with them almost 30 minutes and they didn't want to do anything about that .

I called. It was Customer Care. Here is part of the email I received on the 23rd.

"Thank you for contacting Dell Customer Care and for the opportunity to resolve your issue.

As per our conversation we have processed for the $50 coupon and it will take 5-8 business days to get the coupon ."

"Anumula" was the rep, so maybe you have a chance if you use the name.

I gave her 5 stars.

Do that.

It got delivered today, way early. But I live in Texas and I think it came out of El Paso.

5 days, not bad.

Everyone keeps trashing the system, but I was thinking, worst case, you get the

CPU
GPU
RAM
KB (sell)
Mouse (sell)
NVME
Some fans etc....

Just get a better motherboard, and I've got cases and power supplies so I think $450ish after sales is pretty cheap.

They are generic 'Reply to' addresses.

$50 coupon arrived today. Expires 10/29. So it's actually good for 120 days.

Is anyone capable of getting this deal again? Looks like I just missed it and its EXACTLY what I need. For that matter I need 14 of these.... Would it be a waste of time to try and chat or talk with support?
