I went To Harbor freight this morning and I was looking at their small hoist which only leaves up about 500 pounds and the price was near $60 with only a 5 foot chain. So I just kept browsing around Amazon and found this 10 foot chain with a 5 TON rating for $44.50 its a prime day deal normally $140 and it's the number 1 top seller in hand chain hoist, seems good to me so I got one. Lmk what y'all think

Aside from 1 damaged in shipping type review, it looks like the bad reviews are primarily on the 1 ton version... i may give this a shot...

I would never hoist a car engine with this, but it does serve some other purposes in my garage, specifically as a hoist to pull heavy items up in the attic above garage. I just might also use it to pull off an small outboard engine off my boat if I ever needed.

I almost bit, but then I realized that the extra capacity means that it weights 80lbs. I'll wait until I find a 1-2 ton that weights 1/4 to 1/3rd as much.

The seller looks to be good, if it was a "just launched" then no way.
If it's not what it is supposed to be then send back. Good find, thanks... no idea what I will use this for but who doesn't need to lift 10000lbs from time to time.
