Good deal, but I'm wary of Walmart after getting burned the first time with the Kingdom Hearts deal. Added enough household items to get free shipping with the game. Household items were delivered, but the game itself was cancelled, which kind of defeats the purpose of me ordering other stuff in the first place.
Have to say FFXIII - that entire cluster of a trilogy - is the worst storyline FF ever produced. My issue with this games narrative (spoiler free) is there wasn't enough of it - but what was there was good. The additional content didn't hurt either (Kingsglaive + the animated series).
Oh don't get me wrong I think FF13 was terrible too but in a different way. In that game, they tried too hard to throw the players into a completely "original" world with unique namings of things (I played the Japanese version so idk if it translates to the English one), but it was just complicated for no reason. There also was little to no freedom in the gameplay until the middle/end of the game.
But FF15 was terrible too. You were expected to watch Kingsglaive to make any sense of the storyline, and even then they just threw you into the world. If you didn't play the DLC, the three guys are kind of just assholes being dicks to the main character throughout the entire game. It felt like they put in 95% of their resources to make the game the best open-world experience that they realized they needed a story to go along with it like a month before it sold.

I agree completely. Well said. Predecessors did a great job of introducing you to the world, the conflict, the characters and the culture. These two entries did act like you were experts on the lore before you even enter in.
Even the DLC was pretty mundane in XV, though I liked Episode Ignis - my fav character.
Overall I liked XV better than XIII but definitely the worst in the series (have played all except XI and XIV).
Aside from that weird chapter (think it was 13) this was a great game. Surprised they don't hold value like grand theft auto and price hits rock bottom
They patched the game a while after launch and redid that chapter.
For ten bucks I recommend it. I know a lot of people give it flack for the story, but it resonated with me. If you hated 13, there's a good chance you'll like this one. I wish this price was for the Xbox one version since I'd rather replay on the series x with the Xbox one X patch.
I bought this game shortly after launch and stopped playing when all the DLC, fixes and corrections came out while I was midway though the original game. I might get this and try again..

Completely agree. This comment always gets down votes. It's not like I buy a ps5 and I get it for free. It's not free with ps+, it's included with ps+.
Have played every FF game in the mainline series (except for 11 and 14, and 15). Was super into JRPGs for the first part of my life but have been time constrained this past few years. I'm finishing up FF7 remake now and am surprised by how much I enjoyed it - how does FF15 compare?

Well then I guess we can't call anything free then with most things on this site.
Like when you buy a TV and get a free $250 visa card, that's not free, because you have to buy the TV. When they have a BOGO deal, you aren't getting the 2nd one free, because you have to buy the first one first right?
We can argue stupid semantics on what I meant with that post as being "free" for PS+ users. Like when Sony puts out it's FREE games of the month for PS+ users, I guess I should write them an email and tell them it's not really free.
Next time I'll write this "This game is INCLUDED with a PS+ subscription." Is that better?

Well depending on when you grew up and what JRPG's you played earlier will determine your enjoyment.
I was born in 83, and grew up playing Secret of Mana, Crono Trigger, Final Fantasy 3 (6), and the holy trinity on PS1 FF 7,8,9. I stopped really enjoying FF games at X-XV. They seemed to have lost something (the original director), and they just aren't as memorable. I can remember every character from 6,7,8,9, but could only name a handful from X and beyond.
15 kinda plays out like an open world MMO. You get a main mission and a bunch of side quests as you keep progressing on the open world. The side quests range from kill quests, gathering quests to fetch quests. I couldn't tell you anyone's name in 15 since I beat it when it first came out. Was it a terrible game? No, I enjoyed it for the most part or I would have stopped playing it, but it was nothing memorable like the RPG's of the 90's.

Your examples are still incorrect. Purchase tv = free gift card. There is not other transaction needed. Ps5 does not = free game. Ps5 + additional purchases (ps+) = free game. Ok I am done

the combat is similar to 7 remake. it's pretty much open world so in a way it's like ff 12. I liked it a lot. there is a lot of repetitive fetch quests but that's any open world. the hdr is well done on it. my gf watched me play it and cried at the end. she never watches me play anything ๐
