A lot of the places where they grow crunchberries have had droughts this year, leading to a shortage and high prices. Even the imports from places like Chile and Mexico have jumped up.
In some states, other fruits, such as blueberries and and raspberries are actually cheaper per pound than crunchberries at this point.

And the carbs of course. But I used to love me some Captain Carhooch!
Q: Are these GMO free?
A: Many of the ingredients we use do not come from genetically modified seeds. However, if the ingredient label on any food or beverage product contains ingredients sourced from corn, soybean, beets(sugar) or canola, it most likely contains GE ingredients, as a very high percentage of those crops grown in the U.S. use GE technology. We are aware many consumers prefer non-GMO ingredients, and many of our brands offer Non-GMO products. You can view our full list of Non-GMO Project Verified products at: https://www.nongmoproje

Q: Does this contain GMO's?
A: From GMO Answers: "Oats are not currently available as GM varieties. There are currently eight crops from GM seeds that are commercially available in the United States: corn (field and sweet), soybeans, cotton, canola, alfalfa, sugar beets, papaya and squash. It is also worth noting that no commercially available crops in the United States were created by nature alone. Humans, over our history, have altered all of our crops, often for taste or yield or disease resistance. You can read more about that here, and more information about the history of crop modification is available in our Explore the Basics section. The USDA just recently approved the commercial planting of genetically engineered nonbrowning Arctic apple and lower-acrylamide forming Simplot potato, but they won't appear on the market for some time."
However from realfarmacy.com: "Quaker Oats admits that its oats are sprayed with glyphosate by farmers. This fact is a total shock to most consumers who are completely unaware that glyphosate is now routinely sprayed on non-GMO crops."
