It has been beyond fixed for quite some time actually and they continue to keep adding lots of content. Might be best turnaround story I've ever seen from a launch.
Don't get your hopes up and don't fall for the Internet Historian hype. Just know what you're getting yourself into. This is exactly what it's advertised to be: a colossal grind fest. Ultimately, you end up just going from planet to planet exploring and farming. That's the core of the game and that won't change ever. That said, if you're into that kinda stuff, then this game is 100% for you. I sometimes get in the mood for that kind of game so overall it's a recommendation. Just don't hold your expectations too high because you'll still end up disappointed.
Is the game "fixed" now? Heard there were patches after the launch fiasco but didn't follow too closely

I just updated my platform to an 11400 with 16GB 3600 MHz RAM, but I'm still stuck using my old R9 390. To maintain a solid 60 FPS at 2k, I'm thinking what...medium settings probably?

Lol did same upgrade but I'm on a 970 GTX.
Eventually GPUs will be affordable again..
