Keep an eye out on best buy open box.. scored a geek squad excellent certified for $700. It's the silver model with the 8 gig ram 256 gig storage

So I'm planning on upgrading to the latest MacBook Pro once it's released. I just needed a temporary MacBook and this was by far the cheapest option. I'll probably sell or trade this once the new one is released. I bought the MacBook Air from MC because I think it's the cheapest option to buy brand new. I didn't care for the Apple store AirPods offer, I already have the AirPods Pro. Also, wanted to mention, that I have to call Apple to validate the purchase date for the warranty, it didn't automatically register, like it normally would if you were to buy from Apple. This is second time I had to do this when purchasing a Mac from MC. Kind of annoying, but whatever.

Update: Called Apple to validate the purchase date and it took nearly an hour. If you buy from MC, setup the macbook in store and make sure the purchase date is valid

Keep an eye out for Best Buy Open Box. I got an OB - Excellent/Geek Squad certified for 700. The unit I received has a battery cycle count of 2 and one small scratch on the back. Chatted with Best Buy rep and got another 10% off. Net cost is $630 plus local tax for what is basically a new Macbook Air M1. YMMV.
