Since they say these are just straight up customer returns with no refurbishment, you're most likely getting panels with backlight bleed and/or dead pixels. You get what you pay for, good deal if you dont mind those defects.

I got the 49" open box recently without the extra sale price. Shipped from Cali and delivered to FL. Did standard 3-5 business days shipping. Shipped out on Friday. Estimated delivery date was Thursday, but got it earlier on Tuesday. Missed the recent sale price for it since it sold out so fast. Box was re-taped up and extra worn down, but the monitor itself was in like new condition. Couldn't find any blemishes and doesn't appear to have any dead pixels. Been happy with my purchase so far. Primarily using it for work, but will use it for gaming when I build a new computer later this year. May get a 2nd monitor specifically for gaming later on.

Caught this on NPR podcast about them the other day. TL;DL: Monoprice buys the panels from the same manufacturers as Apple and Samsung in Korea but package the panel differently.

I snagged the 27 inch 144hz curved VA panel one last time. The plastic shell of the monitor wasn't clipped together near a corner, just pressed it together and everything worked perfect after that. No dead/stuck pixels and light bleed was less than a friends AOC monitor (also a va panel) which was around 100-150 more. Colors look great but a bit oversaturated. I'd like to calibrate it but I'm very happy with it for $150, just be sure to test it thoroughly when you get it.

because they just arent that good. The panel itself may be similar to other brands, but the casing, software, menu's are pretty inconsistent. I returned a 34" curved a while back. Besides light bleed, the actual monitor itself didnt align right with the plastic housing. Was pretty bad quality. Compared to a finished product like dell, samsung, LG. For the price tho its hard to beat. If you want something that looks nice you prob want to go with another brand, however if you just want function this should be fine.

Zero-G means you cannot adjust the height. . .if anyone was wondering. . .like I was. I can't find if it means anything else though. All the monitors that do not raise or lower are not all called Zero-G. So what am I missing?

I jumped on the last deal. They clearly don't check the returns much. I received a completely different monitor that someone returned in the wrong box. Had to rma its since it was like half the price of the monitor I ordered(43"crystalpro vs 49" Darkmatter). Customer service was fast at least. Huge bummer on my end. Basically a waste of several hours and they borrowed $600 from me for a few weeks. It really is just a lottery. Considering this is the second round I'm guessing there will be a lot less winners.
