Best price on a great set of refurbished headphones. I bought my refurbished set from this same seller on eBay about 3 years ago for $230. They've flown around the world with me and then some. I use them every day and I've had zero (0) issues. They still look and work like new. They're extremely comfortable to wear, they sound awesome and the noise cancelling is legendary. Highly recommended.

The 4s have on ear detection and multi-point, and they probably also officially have better sound quality and noise cancelation, but the big upgrades are the detection and multi-point

I still have the original 1000X and compared with new versions each year.
They added all the bells and whistles, but it's not significant enough to pay the difference.

YMMV on buying refurbished/used/pre-owned headphones. Not meant to be racist in any shape or form but I once bought a second hand pair of Bose QC25s off this Indian guy for super cheap like $60. Looked to be in amazing shape and works well but it took several weeks for that curry smell to dissipate. If you haven't dealt with curry lingering on everything you have no idea how difficult it is to remove it. Alcohol swabbing the whole thing didn't do much. Just had to wait it out
There's a difference between buying used off some random guy, and refurb/renewed from a big seller. Sometimes it's just an open boxed product that hasn't even been used yet.

Can't you just use an external mic? That's what I'm thinking of doing with these
yeah, that's what I do- but you have to make sure you disable the "headset" device (mono audio and mic) in your control panel or else it won't play the stereo audio. If your game lets you switch audio devices this might not be necessary, but call of duty doesn't let you pick.

I bought refurbished, not sure who the seller was, maybe it was Sony itself. But the set crapped out after a couple weeks and they never sounded as good as my purchased new second pair. Luckily my deal also included a free 2 year warranty with Allstate. Sent the headset in, we'll see what happens. Don't think they can fix it.

Also bought some dyson purifiers refurbished and had to return 2 out of 5 for issues. Refurbished is a crap shoot. Never wait to open your refurb items, open and test thoroughly so you're in the return window.

It's an upgrade if you actually use those features.

For me, no.
App was cumbersome and didn't add much value. Didn't care for fast charging and longer battery life. Sound quality and noise cancelling sounded pretty much the same.
Oh, my XM3 had ghost touch issue in a cold weather, which was the main reason why I went back to the original.

XM4 didn't change much from XM3. I'll probably wait until mine breaks or there's a significant upgrade.
How about comfort while wearing? I am also using the 1000x but my ears tend to get warm after an hour or so. Plus it seems heavier than the xm3 and xm4s that I try at best buy. What was your experience?

Thanks for this information! Very specific, but when using LDAC the XM4s will not allow multipoint. I planned on using LDAC for higher quality over Bluetooth, so the multipoint feature is not a huge selling point.

Just received mine. No marks, scuffs, dust, smell, etc. Came with all accessories. Appear to be brand new just not in the original Sony box.

Any pictures or details on what you did? Mine has a fracture and probably a matter of time before it breaks
I'm a little late to reply, but here is the guide I followed. My headband turned out exactly the same except I did not bend it at 90de angles: https://www.reddit.com/r/headphon...clnk&gl=us
