Seems like a good deal. I haven't purchased discs from Redbox before. I imagine these discs may be heavily scratched from so many rentals. Anybody know if Redbox will refund the purchase price if the disc is not playable?

Blu-rays for the most part are very durable. DVDs on the other hand...

Rented Tenet several weeks ago. It was bad. Probably seemed like a cool idea while the writer was high but it did not translate to reality, even the weird reality of the movie.

For $2, someone can own the movie. Turn the TV's volume up to 50 and still barely hear the dialog. Get confused. Get bored. Then read the synopsis on Wikipedia, memorize the summary, and brag to their friends that they understood it all along.

I thought it was just me who couldn't hear the goddamn movie. Had absolutely no clue what was happening. Even with my 5.1 surround sound, all I could hear was mumbling followed by explosions.

I was sceptical as well for the purchase, but bought Scooby anyways and it was fine, not really scratched.

I have purchased redbox blu rays before. They have been perfectly fine with no scratches. Generally Blu rays don't scratch as much as DVD's will scratch. The down side from buying from redbox is you get the redbox case and not the original case. You do not get any digital code which probably were bulk sold off or never existed for the blu ray pressed for rental only. Yes there are several titles that are printed 'Rental'. I believe these may not have all of the extras commentaries/delete scenes that you would get if you were to purchase the title from online or a store. So I prefer to purchase blu rays from thrift stores or facebook market or ebay or yard sales so I can get the case and artwork.

Nope, you're not alone. I was really disappointed. And I loved "The Dark Knight"!

I'm confused about these Tenet complaints. I went in with pretty low expectations, as I haven't liked much of Nolan's recent stuff, especially Interstellar, but was pleasantly surprised. It was better than a lot of James Bond movies (which is essentially what this was).

The complaints about dialogue at especially confusing, as I sometimes struggle with that, but didn't have a problem in this movie. The only scene where it was an issue was what the good and bad guys are taking to each other across the glass, and that's because they later go back and show the conversation again from the other point of view.

In any case, if the movie looks intriguing to you, give it a try. Not a masterpiece or anything, but a very fun Sci fi spy movie with big action pieces, and more lighthearted than I expected compared to the director's other stuff. The making of features are also fun, hopefully they're on the disc (I got the movie during the Vudu sale).
