Don't post too often but wanted people to catch this if they were in the market. Seems to be one of the best prices on the version with the built in microphone. The Drop version seems to be very similar and goes for double the price.

The porta pro is a classic wonderful sound it's not the same quality it used to be but at this price its a no brainer, the only drawback is the mic its very flimsy and doesn't work well, but you buy Porta pro's for sound not phone calls.

Yep this'll be my first pair and I'm looking forward to hearing them. Already have the kph30i and love them. Hoping to use the mic on these for the occasional Skype call for work. Fingers crossed that the mic isn't too bad...

I'm not trying to dissuade you from trying more great Koss headphones at a good price, but both use the same inline mic.

Much appreciated for the feedback. Found my other one to be acceptable as long as I mute myself when not talking so hopefully it'll work out.

PortaPros sound so good, but I hate it when it snags my hair. Well worth it at $25. Also saw KPH30i are $20

The Massdrop version has a much improved wire. Thicker, and reinforced at the Y, maybe at the pad too. It went for $20 to ~$25 a couple times but is unlikely to do so again.

I've owned the original, the microphone version, and the Drop versions. Honestly the best thing that can happen is for Koss to finally incorporate the improved wire into their regular design. It's a weak point.

Otherwise, great headphones for the price. And it's not even a retro look; they're pretty much the same as they've been for decades.

Definitely considering a second pair. If you do pick this up, make sure to grab a pair of YAXI EARPADS. I wouldn't expect the sound quality and comfort to improve, but it's absolutely night and day difference. These are an amazing bang for buck and they look great IMO.

Despite the price, the Yaxi earpads are well worth checking out for these. I had my pair of Porta Pros about 15 years before putting them on recently, and they're a HUGE improvement in comfort and (for some reason) sound. It's kind of unbelievable. But yeah, those hair snags are still no fun...

I keep buying these cans and people keep taking them from me. My mother swiped my last pair, for crying out loud. I'd get these but honestly I don't wanna deal with a mediocre MIC. That said, these are some of the best headphones for the price--for even 4x the price--and they're so light and comfortable.

I bet some 4chan group decided to troll SD because that's what I'm seeing here.

How are so many people recommending Koss branded 90's style headphones. I've purchased several Koss headsets in the past and their quality is anything but on the low-end of mediocre. They were being sold at radioshack for farks sake.

At this price point I'd prefer some chinesium brands like Aukey/urlhasbeenblocked aka azul-dios (edit here) ones over these wired Koss ones especially since everyone's saying that the selling point is the quality of the music and not on the mic itself.

Huh? I get what you're saying but google the Koss Porta Pro. Oddly they are legendary for the sound quality you get at a low price. Plenty of professional reviews attest to this. I think they have been around for decades too.

I'm pretty far from an audiophile but I have a pair and they seem good. Whenever I bought cheap $10 Sony WM headphones once to replace them in an emergency I HATED them and had to get some more of the Koss immediately. Also, they're very light. There's a great place in the desktop repertoire for light headphones like these, for 25 bucks, that sound fantastic. Now that I'm used to them I dont see myself using other headphones for my entire life. Of course I just use them for listening to music at my desktop. For Xbox or whatever I imagine theyre not the solution.

I guess this one has an inline mic, mine doesnt. Dont personally care about that but I guess it couldn't hurt. BTW I was just looking and I purchased mine in 2016 and they are still holding up to near daily usage. I believe I did replace the foam earpads at one point (via replacements sold at WM or Amazon for like $10 IIRC, and you get like 10 replacement earpads in the pack) because they were tearing. 5 years for $25 headphones used a lot is also pretty great.

If you're not inclined to believe so many people, consider this: they each have a pair and are speaking from experience, while you've never tried them.

Porta Pros and KSC-75's are some of the best bang for your buck in the audio world.

Had the KPH30i headband snap on me from basic use after a year, but they still hold on. Curious to see how much better these are for another low pricer, but man... I don't usually care about looks on headphones too much, but these almost look like old school dental headgear, hah.

I hope they're comfortable
