63% polyester. Not what you want on your feet. Also, these materials explain why holes show up fast per countless reviews.

I got these last time they were on sd for $11. Pretty good socks. I wouldn't call them really cold gear. I've worn them recently in 70 degree weather and they were fine so not assuming they will be great in the snow. (But maybe with a good pair of winter boots?)

Maybe. I'm not knocking UA, just saying polyester isn't what you want on your feet. It's fine in certain other applications.

I have a few pair of these. They are thicker rather than thin for crew socks but they aren't merino wool which is gonna be the warmest you can buy. Yes these are decent quality and will be way warmer than your typical white cotton tube socks. I'd only buy them at the sale price as they aren't $25 a pair amazing.

These make my feet itch. Even after washing them for some reason too.

I've worn a lot of cold weather socks. My two cents is go get a pair of the Costco ones. I've beat the hell out of them in the winter and they've held up fantastic.

Low wool content for cold weather, plenty of better options, but for mild weather and $5 a pair they might be ok.

How much wool content Should we be looking for? I believe I have some Costco wool blend socks. I think around 70% wool but not sure what the rest is made of

I've heard those are pretty decent, beyond wool content it's then just about thickness. When it's really cold I wear a thin pair of synthetic liner socks underneath big thick wool socks, carhartt and cabelas/basspro make some good options. But that's for when it's really cold and I'm going to be sitting still for an extended period. If I'm going to be active then a decent wool sock like you're mentioning will probably go a long ways.
