But the main reason I went with Walmart's 4010 is because they took returns.
Since I have not been able to test any of these Epson projector I am very hesitant to buy one that I cant return if I dont like it.
If its not as good as I wanted to be I am happy to return and try something better.
Cant wait to try it out this week.

Personally it's the HDMI 1.4 ports that will have me wait a bit longer, But the article you bring up to mention fewer pixels pretty much gives Epson the nod for almost every image quality test (including 1080p sources being converted)

Good news is a not-very-large percentage of folks will see the rainbow effect, so if you don't see it - 'inferior' is questionable.
And the blue LCD always goes out first in a 3 LCD leaving a yellow-ish image over time.
I found (speaking personally) DLP to be a crisper image over 3 LCD and the amount of light on the screen seems higher. The DLP is reflecting light through the light engine and only passes through the color wheel, unlike LCD where each color is passing through the associated LCD panel.
Among the myriad of things to determine when deciding on a projector or a TV (room ambient light, screen gain, screen material, throw distance, power outlets, signal cable routing. . ) the projector is a major, major factor. I'd recommend folks go see a DLP or an 3 LCD and see what they like before grabbing a deal on a projector they can't return.
Hope this helps
