I own 3 of these, and while they are not tough enough for commercial contractor use, they are solid for weekend warrior residential usage. Think backyard BBQ, someone brings over a speaker that needs some power, random front yard dance party,, etc. Get some.

These things are stupid, I have one and never used it once, very specific usage scenario.
We are blessed that you gave us an opinion. Thank you.

Great that it includes a built-in 12A breaker, especially since this has a built-in splitter. The limit on 16/3 at 25 feet is about 13A. I'd seriously consider it, but on thinking, I really have more cords than I need already.

But these are very useful for some things.
If you are running a saw, sander and anything else outside and need the flexibility it provides
Things aren't stupid only how you use them makes them either useful or not

"Very specific usage scenario"....needing an extension cord and multiple outlets is a "very specific usage scenario?" Wow, someone does not go outside much.

I have two of different brands and use them frequently. I think these are great.

Nearly every situation where we need a temporary multi tap in this design it's for things which use quite a bit of power... Hand power tools, pumps, shop vacs, garden equipment, etc.,Almost melted a straight extension cord at the outlet yesterday which clearly couldn't handle 13 amps continously over six hours.

Not only is this multi tapping one plug, but most people won't unwind it totally, which is dangerous at high current.

Maybe worth it for seasonal Christmas lights?

Why is it dangerous to unwind it?

Its dangerous to *not* unwind it. This is due to heat build-up.
