These things are very unlikely to happen again. WF got hit with tons of fees and penalties and invested hefty in their risk compliance departments This whole thing sent a shockwave across the industry that also benefited banks' employees. Tellers don't need to aggressively cross sell bank product anymore.
Good all-rounder for those looking for a generalist card and better than Apple Card for merchants who don't take Apple Pay (there are a sizable bunch). Points are awarded monthly and with a $25 minimum for statement credit or check back (Direct Deposit isn't possible unless you have a bank account with them). Wells Fargo's latest pay with points option (I think inspired by Chase Pay Yourself Back) can get around this threshold - redemption is 1 cent to 1 point and points balance must cover the entire amount (no partial offsets). Cell Phone Protection is a good plus, few cards offer a higher rewards rate on top of this perk.

Another thing - Wells Fargo act funny if you pay too many times a month online (I think over 3 payments blocks you from making online payments for the rest of the statement period), but you can always pay over the automated phone system if you exceed this limit.
FNBO also has a 2% cash back Visa with a pre-qualification link. Might be helpful for those who don't have perfect credit and are unsure if they'll get approved. It even tells you the credit limit they'll pre-qualify you for. I got approved yesterday; it'll be my highest limit card so far.

I got my $200 after ~45 days of sign-up. The 2% is the best I've come across. I got a default credit-limit 5x of my other credit-cards (Chase, etc). Other than the $25-increments of rewards, it's a winning situation so far.

I reckon there's other perks/advantages (zero apr, etc) that I haven't availed but useful.

STILL LIVE

I was on the other Capital One thread but saw how they denied people with 800+ score. I have 785 and just paid off 4 CC last month (sold a rolex for $15k net profit..lol).

Wanted a cashback card for summer vacation this year and went with this. Got instant approval for $10k limit. I know 2% cashback seems to be the norm nowadays but the low apr and low membership on this, hopefully makes this a warm deal.

Hopefully your summer vacation is within the U.S., this card has a foreign transaction fee so best not to use it outside of the U.S.

I think this card is decent. I only use it when I purchase something that I can't get a higher cashback with another card. The $25 increments for the cashback redemption is kind of a downer though.

yes! I converted all my WF credit card to this one and merge them into 1.

Do you get to keep the credit limit from your prior WF cards? Or do they give you a new one from scratch?

I hated wells Fargo back in the day. I had credit cards, auto loan and ended getting repoed and ended up bankruptcy. Now I'm back on track and this was my 5th credit card. I got capital one a year after filling and a Barclay's card for several years. Then low limit came up and got a discover and 6 months later got a Amex and 6 months after that I got this wf card with 7500$ limit. I am under 800 and above 700 with a bankruptcy. Keep your payments early and keep your debt to credit ratio under 10% if you want cards. You must know if you make late payments, go over limit, keep you cards close to max you will make your chances much lower and your report numbers low.

The 2% is nice, but I think I will stick with the Fidelity Rewards Visa after getting the $200 sign-up bonus.

@FabulousOstrich1300 | Staff answer to question about Capital One Quicksilver or this Wells Fargo Active Cash should be highlighted.

After 30 days, I had $200 sign-on bonus + $24.75 in rewards.
Because I was 25 cents why of $225, I could only redeem $200.
My fault for not paying attention!

I need to spend $25 more to get 50 cents in rewards and I am done with this credit.

It is a shame.

Clever String 959 forgot to mention that very important deal breaker information.

Fidelity Visa credit card will give you 3% cash back into your brokerage account as long as you have two million in fidelity manage accounts

Got this card a few months ago. Some things never change. Wells Fargo is as bad now as they were 30 years ago when I last had an account with them. What an archaic and crappy bank.

If you can wait, may want to wait and apply for a newer Visa card wells is going to offer

According to this reddit thread (started by claimed Wells Fargo employee) Wells Fargo will launch the Wells Fargo Autograph card on July 13, 2022. The Autograph card is basically the Wells Fargo Propel card but running on the Visa payment network rather than American Express. For reference the Propel card had the following features:
Card earns at the following rates:
*3x on dining, transit, travel, and streaming services.
*1x everywhere else.
*No annual fee.
*No foreign transaction fees.
*Possible 3% on cellular services according to a comment.

I am happy for your situation.
And YMMV…. But in general, more people got screwed than got helped, even to this date
Curious what are the problems people are having with these banks? I'm 52 and have had many accounts with all these companies the last 36 years and have had zero issues. In fact I've had the opposite, any legit late fees I've received have all been waived. I may just be a rare lucky person.

Worst experience I've ever had in getting balance transfers done. I wanted to move a couple of balances to this card because I had some large house expenses in late April and won't get my next bonus til December. So I figured I'd apply for this, move the balances over and have time to pay them off without worrying about 18% credit card interest. Basically, I'd use this as a 15 month 3% interest loan.

I applied for the card in early May, and right at the application stage it asks for balance transfer information - footnote says that balance transfers can take 1-2 weeks to process. That's fine, I thought, because my other CC due dates are at the end of May. Well, May 30 rolls around and no balance transfers yet done despite it being about 3 weeks since application approved. I called Wells Fargo and found out that balance transfers for newly opened accounts are put on "hold" for two weeks, and only then do they *begin* processing them, which then takes another two weeks. So basically to get a balance transfer done on this card, you have to wait a full month from when you open it, which is a ridiculous length of time and can lead to all sorts of interest charges on your other card/s while you wait. Will never get another Wells Fargo product again.

As of last September a new lawsuit claimed that Wells Fargo "defrauded 771 customers by systematically charging them higher markups on FX transactions than they represented the Bank would charge, and concealing these overcharges through various misrepresentations and deceptive practices."

F*** Wells Fargo
