These things are very unlikely to happen again. WF got hit with tons of fees and penalties and invested hefty in their risk compliance departments This whole thing sent a shockwave across the industry that also benefited banks' employees. Tellers don't need to aggressively cross sell bank product anymore.
Good all-rounder for those looking for a generalist card and better than Apple Card for merchants who don't take Apple Pay (there are a sizable bunch). Points are awarded monthly and with a $25 minimum for statement credit or check back (Direct Deposit isn't possible unless you have a bank account with them). Wells Fargo's latest pay with points option (I think inspired by Chase Pay Yourself Back) can get around this threshold - redemption is 1 cent to 1 point and points balance must cover the entire amount (no partial offsets). Cell Phone Protection is a good plus, few cards offer a higher rewards rate on top of this perk.
Another thing - Wells Fargo act funny if you pay too many times a month online (I think over 3 payments blocks you from making online payments for the rest of the statement period), but you can always pay over the automated phone system if you exceed this limit.
FNBO also has a 2% cash back Visa with a pre-qualification link. Might be helpful for those who don't have perfect credit and are unsure if they'll get approved. It even tells you the credit limit they'll pre-qualify you for. I got approved yesterday; it'll be my highest limit card so far.
I previously applied for this card and WF sent me through a never ending loop of useless verification then unapproved my application because it could not verified my status. I was surprised its business haven't collapse yet.
Approved for 9k with a 770 fico. Spent my 1k on owed federal taxes and electric bill. Got 21000 points after a few weeks later, locked the card and probably will not spend another dime on this card. Sucks that they make you redeem 2500 points at a time.
2% Cashback works in $25 increments.
If you have for $30 just $25 will be applied, $5 remains till you spend to get to $25 Cashback and so on.
Yes, you can apply available reward for current statement purchases if you can find matching items, wasn't practical for me.
But if you plan to use the card every month it should not be big issue
I applied for this last month because I needed a card with unlimited cash back. Approval was within 20 seconds or so via the site. $20k limit. 811 credit score (dropped to 807 after).
Per the app, scheduled to get my $200 bonus along with just shy of $800 in cash back from purchases on 3/30.
If you pay off your card every month, I don't see what's not to like about this card. While I'm sure Citi Cash is fine, I didn't want to deal with the "1% at purchase and 1% at payment" gimmick.
Literally all banks that aren't credit unions are garbage companies run by people whose only goal is to make as much money as possible. WF sucks, but then all banks that aren't credit unions usually suck. I might as well let WF give me money while I give them nothing in return.
Seriously, get this card. Not only does it have the highest flat cash back rate, the cellular phone protection actually works. Pretty straightforward claim process. I cancelled my AppleCare a year back and I do not regret it. Heck, the deductible is even cheaper.

I applied for those checking account for a cash back bonus and it's been over 2 months, well after the offer has expired, and still no response. Lol eff these guys.
I have the Citi Double Cash card with 2% cash back. This looks to be exactly the same. Can anyone confirm that you can get 1:1 cashback for this card? Some cards will give you less if you want cashback like my Capitalone.
i have both cards. this is better in that you get 2% instantly...
double cash only give you 1% and another 1% when you pay...

For the cell phone protection, I'm assuming we need to pay the monthly phone bill with this card?
I was accepted within 24 hours

Different cards, one has nothing to do with the other
