Seems pretty slick, about what a Rhone sale price would be but those are always final sale and non-returnable. Note that all of these come with 33" inseam though so most will need to hem, whereas Rhone would offer that complimentary (which also makes it non-returnable).

Still come out ahead in my book, i'm in for a couple sizes of a few colors (Walnut = Morel based on pics?)

What makes these so expensive? 100% polyester?

Yeah they're basically meant to rival Lululemon's ABC tech pants, combining comfort/stretch/breathability in pants you can wear to work. Idt they're worth full price at all but $55 is pretty solid as they definitely are more premium than Banana Republic or comparable in that price range.

Not tight enough. I like to show off my average package.

Not all polyester are created the same. These are extremely comfortable and durable pants, and IMO also look great. The only pants I would consider better are Outlier's Slim Dungarees.

If you don't have a need for comfortable, durable, semi-dressy pants then these are not for you.

My only issue with these pants are that the pockets aren't deep enough. My cellphone likes to poke out when I sit down.

How do these things size? I take 32W / 34L, but if it's 32, is that going to be long enough to cover my shin? Or do I get 34 and have in cinch at my waist?

I have a pair of these in black. Overall, they seem to be high quality, with a softer than average polyester, however they are not as slim as I'd prefer. You will also need to hem the pant leg. I wear a 32" x 32" pant and, if available, slim. To be forthcoming, there are other, 100% polyester pants made that are comparable to this Rhone pant and the Lulu ABC pant. Examples are Eddie Bauer's 5-pocket guide pant (~$35 on sale) and Wrangler's ATG trail joggers ($50 normally).

Isn't Rhone well known for being poor-quality/all predatory marketing/awful company?

Gotta admit this thread gave me quite the laugh. Though it does seem they made decent products according to other comments

Holy crap. After reading that and seeing their Instagram post, I think their motto should be... "Rhone: We know douches".

I've honestly found Pranas stretch Zion without the cargo pockets the best value on sale. They've lasted me ten years and definitely function well as a casual work / dress pant.
