If you have Paypal Key you can get this to work as a Mastercard Debit funded by the Discover. Opens up lots of opportunities.

Log in to your PayPal account and create the PayPal key. Set the Discover card as the payment method for it. You will have a new "virtual" card number, expiration date, and security code that you enter in just like any other credit/debit.

As previously mentioned, this awesome with PayPal Key linked to your Discover card. You can treat it like a debit card to avoid a lot of fees, and use at places that don't normally accept PayPal (like Amazon), allowing you to get the 5% bonus on the Discover

Yes. It might be a good idea though, to set your discover card as your prefered payment option in paypal just to be safe.

Why is this FP? PayPal has been the 5% cash back category for Discover in Q3 for the past 3 years (or more).

I'm not going to use anywhere near $1500 from PayPal because the 5% cash back category includes restaurants which includes fast food.

Just tried to add to apple pay but I got message that this card cannot be added as payment method. Are you able to add?

Yes until you reach the spend threshold of $1500. Just make sure to always have the best card backing up the paypal key. Example:

Chase Freedom 5% when they do Paypal
Discover 5% when they do Paypal
Bank of America Cash Rewards 3% for online. Works for most transactions but not bill pay like the first two do.

More Examples. Use the Pay Pal Key for Verizon payments. It classifies as a debit and you still get CC spend on whatever card you are tied to. Use the Pay Pal Key to reload Amazon 2% bonus on gift card reloads. This ends on 7/29 but if you are already enrolled change your debit to Pay Pal key and get 7%. May be suspended now but not sure for new sign ups.

Amazon gives you a 2% discount on Amazon GC reloads via Amazon Reload (although I got an email today they are discontinuing that discount at the end of July) so potentially 7% discount (2% Amazon Reload + 5% Paypal/Discover).

Do you have the link to the 2% reload discount? I tried to do this last week but amazon said that the promo already ended.
