If you have Paypal Key you can get this to work as a Mastercard Debit funded by the Discover. Opens up lots of opportunities.

Log in to your PayPal account and create the PayPal key. Set the Discover card as the payment method for it. You will have a new "virtual" card number, expiration date, and security code that you enter in just like any other credit/debit.
As previously mentioned, this awesome with PayPal Key linked to your Discover card. You can treat it like a debit card to avoid a lot of fees, and use at places that don't normally accept PayPal (like Amazon), allowing you to get the 5% bonus on the Discover

Do you have the link to the 2% reload discount? I tried to do this last week but amazon said that the promo already ended.
Hi Pctek4456,
I received this email from Amazon yesterday (and haven't reloaded recently) so it's all I know about the policy of discontinuation:

"We're writing to notify you that 2% rewards on reloads to your Amazon Gift Card balance will be discontinued on July 29th, 2021.

You can still continue to reload funds to your Amazon Gift Card balance using Amazon Reload and all eligible transactions through July 28th will receive a 2% bonus to your Amazon Gift Card balance. Previous transactions and any bonus that was eligible for those transactions can be found in your Amazon Gift Card Balance.

For more information, please visit www.amazon.com/primereloads"

This deadline may only be for Amazon Prime members? Not sure.

Hope this helps.

So if I purchase something from Walmart.com and checkout using PayPal and use my Discover card would I get the 5% CB?
i usually buy $1500 walmart gc (3 x $500) and call it a day instead of trying load up on a bunch of stuff.

Why is this FP? PayPal has been the 5% cash back category for Discover in Q3 for the past 3 years (or more).

I'm not going to use anywhere near $1500 from PayPal because the 5% cash back category includes restaurants which includes fast food.
maybe you can find another way to get 5% in the restaurant category and use this new opportunity to maximize 5% thru paypal for purchases that are unavailable the rest of the year. sometimes you have to be flexible. i plan to use my entire $1500 at walmart and if i want to continue to get 5% at fast food places, i can buy gcs at the grocery store or on amazon with a different credit card.

Purchased a couple things off eBay today that were cheaper than elsewhere. Yay.

Thanks for the PayPal key which is pretty much a virtual card number but more convenient since you can link different cards underneath.

I bought something I could have used that. Now I know.

i think this only comes once a year so i would try to plan for years worth of goods and at the end of the quarter, purchase a gift card maybe.

sweet, time to pay my 2021 taxes
Quick question. How it saves if you use to discover card to pay taxes? My tax time is due also. I believe if we pay the tax due by using a credit card there will be an extra fee for that payment. (from card companies). Is that right?

it's like a virtual credit card number. you can fund it thru any credit card you have on file with paypal.
Thanks for the info. I read the link you provided, but I can't find anywhere in my PayPal Wallet or Account anything about this key. Apparently they aren't offering it to everyone at this time? Where in the Wallet did this option appear, if you recall? Thanks Smilie

How do you do 3. I thought they allow only 2 per quarter?
