I've been shopping for a 75 inch TV for a while and have had my eye on the Sony XBR. I checked Best Buy website today and saw they have it for $1,299. Seems like a great price as it was Front Page previously at $1,599.

This TV has HDMI 2.1 but does not support Dolby Vision using 4k @ 120Hz on Xbox Series X|S and Sony has yet to release a firmware update that enables VRR.
Great deal, looks to be available for pickup and delivery. I already bought one a few months ago and thankfully Costco reimbursed me when they dropped it to this price. But if you missed out on previous closout deals this is great. Can't imagine there will be much stock left now.
thanks. been looking for a good deal on a nice 75". kids threw something and broke my 65" OLED B9 a couple weeks ago. It's no OLED, but should be a suitable replacement.

Thanks OP, picked up one for a gift. I own 4 of this model in 3 sizes (85, 75 and 65) and think it's a great tv. My Samsung days are behind me for now.

As far as I know the only TV that supports DV with 4k@120Hz is 2021 LG Oled TV, even that one received that later on with a new firmware. So to blame this old TV on this point is not quiet fair. VRR should come later this year, PS5 doesn't support it neither anyway for now.

I have the x900f which I believe is the previous edition of this TV and its fantastic. I would say its about 80%-85% as good as my parents LG OLED. That is saying a lot because the OLED is the best tv I've ever seen. I would say the x900f was the best I've seen but the OLEDs are just on another level.

It's all empty promise and most likely will be cancelled. Only 2021 released will be getting the update. That's why it's on clearance.

How do you compare them. Oled has a lot deeper black colors and costs about 3 times as much.

OLEDs typically have lower max peak brightness as well. I understand TCL's quantum dots + mini LEDs can get crazy close, but that's on their high end models.

In the market for a TV. budget < $3000. Looking for 75 inch size. My living room gets lot of light through big size windows and balcony door. I have a projector in the living and it is hard to watch during day time even with the dark curtains. would OLED work in a very bright room? if not, this TV might work in a bright room. any suggestions for a TV in a bright room?

I'm no expert but I did a bit of research before buying this tv. I would think with your situation and having a lot of light you would be better off looking at Qleds, they are really bright and I believe the Samsungs have a good anti-reflective coating. This tv seems like a good fit for controlled lighting as well as Oled, but if you don't want to pay for an Oled you get this. But saying that, I bought this for my large bedroom and my wife almost made me return it when she saw how bright it is, thankfully I can set it low enough that she was ok with it. So it may be bright enough.

You might want to check your local Costco....saw a sign for $1,099 for Sony 75 inch, unfortunately it was out of stock at my store....but might be available in your area. Seems like they were clearing out the 2020 models
