Some info about this dehumidifier, 35 pints refers to "moisture removal capacity", or the amount of water it can absorb from the air per day (see the specification section on the Best Buy page). Between the 35 pint and the 50 pint, the tank capacity for both is 6.3 quarts, so that would mean the 35 pint just absorbs water slower.

The 50 pint goes on sale for $150, just $20 more than this, so I'm planning to wait for that to go on sale again. I have 1 50 pint already but I want a second for the other floor of my house, I hate carrying this thing up and down the stairs.

I dont use the tank and just have it drip into a hose to a close utility sink thats why I went with this vs a 50. Thanks!

Mine is next to the central AC / heat, and water softener. They all drip in the same floor drain.

Just for clarification, the 35 absorbs water slower than the 50 whether it drips into the tank or the hose. The specification section shows it as "Moisture Removal Capacity: <35 or 50> pints per day", meaning if they both ran for 24 hours, the 50 would absorb 15 pints more water in the same amount of time.

But still, depending on how humid your area gets the 50 could be overkill compared to the 35. It gets up to 90% humidity where I am so I'm sticking with the 50 personally.
