Don't use GV, it is not an eligible carrier. I made a mistake on setting up my byod account. But yeah account number is the phone number.

This is the annoying part!!! When I signed up, the cheapest plan allowed is $25. But afterward, I saw that they had a $15 plan. Idk if you sign up on the website, it might let you. Directly in the phone, you can only choose $25.

Don't think you can port trial number
I was told that no account number and pin is available on the mint 7 day trial

I think once you use and input your GV number, there is a drop down menu and it'll show GV and like one other prepaid carrier. On my second account I used Tracfone and there were a lot more carriers on the drop down menu. But again, don't use GV cuz it is not on the eligible list. Google Fi is.
