Looks like the battery life may be a real deal breaker for this - despite the awesome price.

Does anyone have actual experience with the Mini? Currently got an XR and battery has been pretty solid.

Yes. I got the iPhone 12 Pro deal: activated the service on 6s+ and paid 1st month, paid 2nd month via web, and got the MasterCard rebate while the new phone was still sealed.

If I were to order the phone without porting in a number, can I use the phone with AT&T or some other carrier right out of the box?

Looks like the phone itself is unlocked from the get go?
