I tried Mint and the service was hot garbage. Based on that, I would not expect them to be around in 25 years, 25 months might be a stretch. I would dig through the terms very carefully to find out what happens to your prepaid money if they fold if you're thinking about checking this out.

This post should be deleted as someone stupid might see this as a good deal and sign up. Mint is not major network and it's MVNO so it's future depends on other major network honoring the low rate for 25 years. And in 25 years 4GB data will be used in few minutes. It's not even a gamble, it's a sure way to throw away 2500 bucks.

I'm trying to think if there was a service I could have signed up for in 1997 for $100/year that would still be providing the same value or features today, as back then.

Home phone? nope
Cable TV? nope
Magazine subscriptions? nope
Dial up home internet? nope

Seriously even at 3 dollars a month, in 10 years that amount of data is going to look stupid. I hope no one is dumb enough to do this.

Could they up the data on this in the future? Let's say they give you double the data. When would this be worth it to someone? I don't see Cell Phones going away and I think plans will only get more expensive.

Stupid deal, Why would you ever throw away 2500$ on cell service you can never use.

1) service price will go down

2) you will never get $2500 worth

and if you say 'inflation', put the 2500 in a high yeald etf and keep the 2500 in line with inflation.

Again, if you have 2500$ to throw away, there are much better deals avalible. t-mobile gives $ when transfering in and free phones you can resell... you can get service for free or less from t-mobile with better service with out loosing your $2500 seed money.

This posting should be removed, it is not a deal and more a scam.

and 4GB of data is not going to help you in years to come, it is like having cell service with 50 minutes a month for $2500.

Would've been better if its was only $100 due yearly. Instead of $2,500 upfront to make it $100 yearly.

aside from the MNVO concern, if someone doesn't use data this is a great deal

So if someone needed cheap service, who would you recommend?
