Project Farm tested name brand steel toe work boots, and the Wolverines failed horribly in protecting the wearer. Surprisingly, Sketchers (who knew they made boots) did amazing for the price and was pretty close to performance with the Keens Steel-toed boots that cost 4 times more.

These boots do not hold up well. After 4 wears, the tread of the toe completely separated from the boot on both feet. Contacted wolverine for a refund or new pair, they sent me a brand new pair free of charge and they were a different boot. No steel toe. Can't recommend this company.
