2780 has a less powerful brushless motor, 8500 RPM, and takes up to a 5" wheel.
2981 has a more powerful brushless motor, 9,000 RPM, and takes up to a 6" wheel.
You can get either 27xx or 29xx model with either paddle switch or slide switch.
The grinders that end in 80 have a paddle switch.
The grinders that end in 81 have a slide switch.
Obviously we're all about that slickdeal life and no one pays full retail, so you're basically getting a fuel grinder for free(brushless).
It does have a paddle and not a switch so that's a deal breaker for some. Me, I'm quite fond of my fingers so a paddle seems safer.
I know a few have mentioned flipping the grinder for 150 but I wouldn't count on getting that, if new sells for 179. But hey, get 130 for it and it brings the battery down to 100 bucks, that's smoking. Although in my experience I always plan on flipping tools but then end up keeping it for a "spare".
