update, ordered three cards. all cards came within three minutes. have since then applied all three to amazon account balance. have already gotten confirmation that all three cards have been applied to my account.
Needed to spend $500 to wrap up a credit card promo, so this was a nice money maker for me.

I chatted in and was told 3 times by the rep "please wait 1-2 minutes while I research" before she disconnected.

It does say that it can take up to 24 hours, but I'm not overly hopeful.

Instant cancel on first attempt; and second attempt was the same. Tried to even create an account for the 2nd try.

I've spent enough time trying... savings would have been nice, but there's no rhyme or reason for them to cancel and I don't want to waste my Friday evening playing this game.

Good luck all. If anyone does figure out what the heck the draconian security checks are, please post.

BTW, as a data point, I'm ordering from a different location from where my credit card is listed as the home address. Also, I used the listed phone number on my credit card account, as well as a different number.
