Are the GPU prices still inflated, I feel like they've been coming down lately here locally. Wondering if it would make sense to buy the tower and sell the GPU to offload cost

Bad parts: If you're a hardcore gamer, go build your own system. No pre-built will meet your expectations. If you find a pre-built that meets your technical requirements, it will not meet your budget because you are paying for the service of having parts acquired and assembled. Dell gives no indication anywhere on it's site that these systems are future-proof or upgradable. So stop thinking that these are future-proof or upgradable.

Hidden charges: No. When you price out a Dell, they list things as "Included" and have up charged extras, and sometimes they have downgradable options to save you a few bucks. They set the options and the prices. You can't tell them to add or remove something from a configuration that they don't want to add or remove. The fact that they saw the On-site 1-year service as an itemized line doesn't mean it was a hidden charge, and "included" doesn't mean "free". Gamers Nexus is stupid to think that "included" means "free". It means that it's included in the price they were quoted and they wished it didn't exist. Too bad. The bit about the forced monthly subscription that you have to actively opt out of WAS true. The video says that Dell changed it and it no longer exists.

GN does nothing but complain about every single thing they review. The few things I've seen them recommend still contain backhanded insults. Nothing will ever satisfy them. That's their shtick.

Will it play Crysis? Kidding. I'm old. Honestly though will this play something like GTA V without skipping a beat?

"Let's talk about that for a moment. A 500W PSU might seem under powered for a GeForce RTX 3070, as NVIDIA recommends a 650W PSU. But here's the thing—this is presumably a higher quality unit. It is made by Lite-On and features 80 Plus Platinum certification, a designation that is typically associated with top tier PSUs (it relates to efficiency, but crappy PSUs do not typically earn the badge). According to Dell, the XPS Desktop Special Edition with the 500W PSU option "supports 125W K CPU + 225W graphics with anticipated voltage spikes." For reference, the GeForce RTX 3070 is a 220W GPU.

We did not observe any instability or other funkiness during our testing, and so we are confident the PSU is up to the task. After all, we don't handle test systems with kid gloves."

Do you need a separate code for the Amex offer or just use the Amex card?
You need to go to the AMEX site and find and add this offer to your card before you buy. Not everyone with an AMEX card has this offer.

Replacing my Dell XPS 8700 that I bought in 2013 with this. I'm a casual gamer, so I don't need a $3K gaming PC. Only upgrades I ever did to my current rig was to double the RAM to 16GB and replaced the included GPU(AMD Radeon HD 7570 1GB GDDR5) with a 1050ti. I think I got my moneys worth out of it. I'll probably set it up for one of my kids to use.

Looks like the are still inflated. I bought nearly the same PC three months ago. The differences were only a 256 GB NVME but with a 1TB hard drive added. It came to $940 after the $100 Amex offer I used.

We have 3 of those G5 systems reviewed in that video with various graphics cards, 16GB ram, 1TB NVMe drives, and a clean install of Windows 10. All are performing very well and we have not seen any heat or performance issues. My kids play the newest games on them daily (CSGO, Doom Ultimate, TF2, HOI4, Call of Duty Modern Warfare, ect.) While simultaneously having YouTube open, a couple web pages, and messenger programs. I feel as though the build quality was quite good for the price I paid. I could not be more satisfied with our purchase.

This Dell XPS system would be a great fit, for home, office, students, coders, CAD, miners, and even casual gamers. Pretty much everyone except PC gamer enthusiast that like to build and maintain their own systems.

If you are just an normal person that wants to get a good deal on a good PC that will probably never be opened, and the only real maintenance you do is reinstall Windows ever couple of years to clean the system up. Then this system is perfect for you.

Applause
I think the key point here is to avoid if you want to maintain your system.

Go watch gamers nexus recent video on Dell pre-builts before you buy this. Just know what you are likely in for. Not saying you shouldn't buy it, but know you will probably need to modify things.
