Exactly! If you want to build or maintain your own system then go buy you own parts and to it. Do not even bother coming to threads about pre-built systems made by Acer, Apple, Asus, Dell, HP, Lenovo, ect.

I do not go to threads about bread telling people you are better of sourcing your own ingredients and baking your own bread.

We have 3 of those G5 systems reviewed in that video with various graphics cards, 16GB ram, 1TB NVMe drives, and a clean install of Windows 10. All are performing very well and we have not seen any heat or performance issues. My kids play the newest games on them daily (CSGO, Doom: Annihilation, TF2, HOI4, Call of Duty Modern Warfare, ect.) While simultaneously having YouTube open, a couple web pages, and messenger programs. I feel as though the build quality was quite good for the price I paid. I could not be more satisfied with our purchase.

This Dell XPS system would be a great fit, for home, office, students, coders, CAD, miners, and even casual gamers. Pretty much everyone except PC gamer enthusiast that like to build and maintain their own systems.

If you are just an normal person that wants to get a good deal on a good PC that will probably never be opened, and the only real maintenance you do is reinstall Windows ever couple of years to clean the system up. Then this system is perfect for you.

Bad parts: If you're a hardcore gamer, go build your own system. No pre-built will meet your expectations. If you find a pre-built that meets your technical requirements, it will not meet your budget because you are paying for the service of having parts acquired and assembled. Dell gives no indication anywhere on it's site that these systems are future-proof or upgradable. So stop thinking that these are future-proof or upgradable.

Hidden charges: No. When you price out a Dell, they list things as "Included" and have up charged extras, and sometimes they have downgradable options to save you a few bucks. They set the options and the prices. You can't tell them to add or remove something from a configuration that they don't want to add or remove. The fact that they saw the On-site 1-year service as an itemized line doesn't mean it was a hidden charge, and "included" doesn't mean "free". Gamers Nexus is stupid to think that "included" means "free". It means that it's included in the price they were quoted and they wished it didn't exist. Too bad. The bit about the forced monthly subscription that you have to actively opt out of WAS true. The video says that Dell changed it and it no longer exists.

GN does nothing but complain about every single thing they review. The few things I've seen them recommend still contain backhanded insults. Nothing will ever satisfy them. That's their shtick.

I mean..I consider myself dumb sometimes...but some of these comments about upgradability, proprietary parts, etc are entirely on a different level. Where have yall been for the past few decades...? Not born?

Hi,
How to sign up to get 10%
There is a page here :
https://www.dell.com/en-us/member/lp/aaa

However I tried it and got a coupon and then tried to use the coupon with the system in OP and it said:
"Your order does not qualify for this coupon."

I bought it. It'll play what I want it to and if I need to I'll replace the CPU cooler. Or, get a new MOBO and get a new case and just swap it all. No biggie. Not like I can even get a vidya card right now lol.

The AAA 10% code wouldn't stack for me: "This coupon is valid but cannot be applied to this order."

UPDATE: same result for the Dell email signup 10% code "This coupon is valid but cannot be applied to this order."

How are people getting these coupons to stack? What am I doing wrong?

Annoying that these deals are all 16GBx1. So need to buy another matching 16GB stick to get best performance....

SE, is it like sport edition or special edition? lol
I know it's not gonna happen, but I wish XPS has an AMD line... I'm still using XPS 8300, with sandybridge i5, starting to struggle, by the time Win 11 is out, I'm sure I will upgrade, so tempting...
Special Edition:
White Case
Includes DVD Burner and case that supports it
Bigger power supply so it can run the K/extreme edition processors and higher end graphics cards.

Those are the only real differences.

Are the GPU prices still inflated, I feel like they've been coming down lately here locally. Wondering if it would make sense to buy the tower and sell the GPU to offload cost
Now that China has cracked down on Crypto mining and Nvidia has released cards specific for mining (and their latest graphics cards have actually throttled the mining performance in order to stop people from buying them for that) I suspect the prices are going to fall. So if you do want to flip it, do it quickly.

Can't just add another stick of RAM, can anyone confirm?
Yes just try to match the specs as close as possible (ideally get the exact same part number, but not required).

At least with the XPS 8930 with the 10th gen processors, the 512GB SSD was "class 35" instead of "class 40" like the 1TB SSD. Dell doesn't even define class 35 on their site, just 30 and 40. Basically higher number is higher performance (mb/sec and iops). Of course the performance difference is likely not noticeable to anyone, just odd that they're putting a lower performance SSD in these. This one doesn't seem to specify the class but I'm assuming they're still using the same 512GB cards.
