This is one of the top consumer and commerical security suites. They even moved their operations out of Russia because of all the bad press it was bringing them.
Good price on one of the best AVs out there, but it's a shame about their Russian influence. Even with some processes moved to Switzerland I'd be hesitant to ever install their software again personally. I'd recommend ESET instead, they're just as good.

Just because you move the FSB ops ...err Kaspersky...out of Russia does not mean the FSB is still not in the software lol.

The company is now under 5 Eyes control, including having a "transparency center" in Canada and a data center in the US. There is no reason for paranoia. Arguably, there wasn't before.

I have no reason to take their word for it. Anything Russia has its claws in is bad news, even if their damage control is a legitimate, good faith effort to turn their business around, the state can still be pulling the strings. If you're going to bat for this company, I'm all ears, but let's start with some legit sources and evidence.
I would say most antivirus softwares are potentially capable of being spyware, bc they collect system logs and all sorts of information from your PC. Kaspersky has always been known as one do the top security suites, but nowadays, keeping windows updated is enough. You don't need to pay a third party for security.
