Too bad these have gotten worse than generic versions. Used to last 8-10 weeks, now if they make it to week 3 it's almost a miracle.

Thanks! The Dobie Cleaning Pads are awesome and they're seldom on sale.

I've read that epidemiologists recommend tossing your sponge after two weeks because the bacterial count gets so high. I wash mine in the dishwasher nightly and still toss it about every couple of weeks.

Microwaving is supposed to easily sterilize them, I saw it on one of those Dr. Oz shows.

We only replace ours after several months and have never nuked them or thrown them in the dishwasher. I keep one just for getting gunk off and another for using soap to clean.

Im glad Im not the only one who noticed that. The sponges are like super thin now and lose abrasion after 3-4 uses. Its basically trash.

I don't see any of these prices. Everything is about 15% higher for me. The coupons are there but the prices have been raised.

Using the ones at Dollar Tree now (if you can find them). Of course, still also got a stash of these poor quality ones from amazon to go through.

To everyone: I never buy the scotch brand, so to all you Amazon free ship diehards stating quality is worse, did you contact the manufacturer? Amazon pools all products listed as the same, and brand new, together then ships you the oldest they have when you order from them or a reseller. I wonder if you received counterfeit products, it has happened before.

To Lilyly: If you have an Aldi nearby, buy theirs. They come in three packs. In my area I'm pretty sure the price is around $1.49 for the three pack. Their price for their generic beats most other store brands. Ex target does some deal for $15 off (or $15 GC) a purchase of $50 in household goods. Buying targets Generic of this was still more expensive than Aldi's everyday price, and Aldi quality was better. Same goes for dish soap compared to dawn. The one thing Target beat them at was laundry detergent.

I don't even bother comparing this stuff to Walmart anymore. Their selection is better, but still higher than aldi, not sure about quality. I pretty much go Aldi for everything except detergent to avoid deal hunting on this stuff. Their detergent is not a bad deal either if you need it while waiting on Target.

Heard that too… but… also heard the reason why microwaving isn't the good solution it appears to be is that the microwave zaps and kills all bacteria, but the dead bacteria remain on sponge and act as food for the new bacteria and accelerate growth.
