I have this one. It works well. So much better than the ones that have the elastics that secure around the corners. It's nice to be able to remove and insert the phone back into the holder easily.
My guideline is: No name storefront on Amazon that exists nowhere but on other larger merchant websites + coupon code = probably not legit. I hate to say it, but these sellers figure out ways to game the system (to get around fakespot, for instance).
Frankly, a ton of comments on SD for an item of apparent limited utility is another huge red flag that makes me want to run the other way. It could be a tactic to push an impulse/panic buy.
None of these guys get my money. It's like asking how to find the best tasty treats in the sewer.

Got it today. Within .5 miles it ejected my phone from my bike. Last time I bite on one of these cheap chinese amazon/SD specials.
As Slimeyface was getting at, I'm not sure how it could eject if you have it all the way in there and the lock on. After I got mine last year, I literally shook the crap out of it to try to get it to come out and it didn't budge (after locking it in). The lock is a bit of a pain to enable and disable, but if that's what makes it hold, I'm okay with it.
Got one to mount to a motorcycle. It would be fine except they use one GIANT-hole handlebar clamp with a bunch of crappy rubber spacers to make up the difference in handlebar sizes. If you have a normal sized 7/8" motorcycle handlebar. You have half an inch thickness of rubber spacers you have to use. Well that giant mount ring stuffed with layers of rubber doesn't actually fit anywhere you need it to..
Have not read all the pages of comments since I bought mine, but just went for my first gravel bike ride yesterday and Thank you. Works great. Been looking for something like this at a good price. There are nicer designs, but those cost more. If you want something for your bike that works and gets the job done at a great price this is it.
It is a little big, but on my bigger gravel bike not a big deal. Nice that you have easy access to the screen and feels very secure.
And will add that I have a Iphone 12 Max and worried about fit, but no worries at all. Fits very nicely the larger phone.

my phone keeps moving left, right, up or down...the ball needs be more tighter and i have like a big phone just able to fit in an outter box...also i'm not able to lock it with the button phone is 6.5 inches but could hold up to 6.8....but keeps phone in place even without having to lock it but i think as i use it more the ball that you turn to rotate or move the phone and the spring that holds the phone will become more loose as u keep taking it on and off...can't leave the phone holder on handle bar while locking up bike and being away for few hours...the only few downsize i find about this holder....anyone thinks the same??? or is having the same problem???
