(Edit: 2 yrs later after discontinuing the PJ the lamp is now $59 shipped from Epson)
Great 1080p projector for rooms that are not light controlled, it's a light cannon. I've noticed you get some flickering before the lamp fully goes out so you'll replace them more frequently however the lamps are much cheaper than any other projector I've seen ($59 shipped from Epson) They go out of stock fairly regularly so keep one on hand... It's even acceptable for casual FPS gaming (for a projector) bought it for $700 new 2 yrs ago and have no regrets.

I would not describe this as a "light cannon".

Out of curiosity what would you describe that way? Pretty much all of the reviews when it was released mention things like: very bright, bright, suitable for rooms with light etc. To me that is reviewer for, light cannon in the price range (And when discussing a/v equipment we are always discussing comparisons versus the msrp price range we are shopping otherwise we're just being trolls.)

For measured lumens which might be of interest to those wondering if this is worth this price:

I was reading through the specs and it says it has "up / down" and "left / right" adjustments. So let's say I have the projector slightly elevated and at a slight angle horizontally. Could I adjust my picture to be perfectly flat? I got a cheap Vankyo this time and now I want more haha but it only has the "up / down" focus I think where if I elevate it I can move the screen to being "flat" again ... but I have to be perfectly straight at the wall.

How is the manual focus as well?

I'm assuming the 'auto focus' variety are in a much more expensive price range ...

I bought this last time for 499 and loves it. I use it occasionally for indoor and out door movie mostly at night but I have turned it on during the day and it was still bright enough. It has built in speaker that is adequate. The Bluetooth does go off sync so I would not use it. I just connect to the Bluetooth of the media device. The fan can be a bit loud, but only noticeable in quite scenes. If you don't need 4k this is very good.

This is an excellent price, and is $50 cheaper than ever before. Please note that Epson does not take returns - only exchanges if there is an issue. This is a highly recommended projector on /r/projectors, especially for the price as a refurb - one of the top recommendations when they are in stock.

I personally don't have one, as I wanted a short throw projector, but if you are in the market this is a good deal for sure, but just be sure due to the lack of refundability.

Bought one previously as well and had issues with the crappy power cord. Sent it in and the second one was the same.. Swap the cord out and its a great projector, no regrets.

Is anyone able to comment on how good this projector is for sports? Is there much blurring or is it able to keep up with a fast moving football or hockey puck? Thanks!

Been wanting a decent projector and decided to buy. Heard so many bad reviews of anything cheaper.
Last year's cnet [cnet.com]review was good. Thanks!
