IDK... If you are into tech and are polite to the techs I have never had an issue. Quick phone or web chat and either a tech or a box sent out next day. Pending parts of course.
My Alienware 17 R1 (Ranger) with the i7-4900MQ / RTX 780 is still running strong after 7 years. I used it every day for 10-16 hours a day for 5 of those and then used the 7559 for about a year followed by my m17 r1. The m17 r1 has been used about 10-16 hours a day for the past year and only minor heat issues if the heatsinks got clogged.
m17 r1 was upgraded to 64GB, second nvme disk added, and of course OS rebuilt with Win10 Enterprise. Used 90% of the time on my lap and although I picked up better paste and pads to replace the OEM ones, I never had a need for non-gaming use. Gaming times go on a cooling pad to keep things stable.
The system I had originally purchased for my replacement was a Lenovo P71 with pretty much identical specs (i7-980xh one had a RTX3000, one RTX 4000 and one with a 5000). Alienware only has a 2060 max-P, but all of the Lenovo's ran super hot to the point where I could not use it on my lap. I run the AW m17r1 in shorts w/o issue.
The P71 did seem faster though as the IOPS felt faster when driving multiple VMs. Granted, the drives in there may have been faster than my Samsung 970 Evo.

I had an R5 previously but returned it due to backlight bleed. I actually had an M15 R4 3070 on order but it had been a month and it still hadn't shipped so I just now canceled it. The price after cashback was $1310. It has a much more premium chassis and pretty much everything is an upgrade, except the i7 10870H is much slower and the RAM is not upgradeable (I had ordered the 32GB model but I'm not confident the timings would be good). I already plan to upgrade RAM on this to low density RAM with tight timings which should make the R5 even faster. Plus I believe the 165hz panel on this will be slightly better. With the money left over, I will also plop in a 1TB drive and use liquid metal to improve the crappy CPU thermals.
I vaguely regret canceling my R4 but I just can't wait months for a laptop to arrive, while newer, faster laptops continue to drop in price.
