Most big name (Acer, Apple, Asus, Dell, HP, Lenovo, ect..) budget pre-built computers like this come with propriety cases, PSU, and motherboards now a days. Everything else are standard size parts (CPU, drives, fans, graphics cards, RAM, ect..) and can be easily upgraded/replaced/swapped.

This Dell system would be a great fit, for home, office, students, coders, CAD, miners, video editors, graphic designers, and even casual gamers. Pretty much everyone except hardcore PC gamer enthusiast that like to build and maintain their own high-end $2000+ systems.

We have 3 of the G5 systems reviewed in that Gamers Nexus video. Ours have GTX1660 graphics cards, 10400F, 500w PS, 16GB ram, and a clean install of Windows 10. All are performing very well and we have not seen any heat or performance issues. My kids play the newest games on them daily (Doom Eternal, Call of Duty Modern Warfare, Madden, HOI4, ect.) While simultaneously having YouTube open, a couple web pages, and messenger programs. I feel as though the build quality was quite good for the price I paid. I could not be more satisfied with our purchase.

If you are just an normal person (like 98% of the population) that wants to get a good deal on a good PC that will probably never be opened, and the only real maintenance you do is reinstall Windows ever couple of years to clean the system up. Then this system is perfect for you, and will serve you well for many years to come.

If you have a better deal on a pre-built system with similar or better specs available right now then post it.

Well the idea is to potentially ride down the gpu prices. Because OEM pricing changes faster than retail, dell is selling these gpus for 300-400 after markup. If slick dealers can sell for 500-600 before the retail market catches up, there is a window of profitability. But of course, as good as this system is, you are still paying 400+ for a 299 msrip gpu. (which isn't *terrible* all things considered)

Well, its still a bit hard to price things because the OEM quality and features (or lack of) make it an apples to oranges comparison by default. But yeah, its perfectly reasonable to buy this machine, sell the gpu and buy a 3050 or 3060 or (maaybe a) 3070. I definitely don't think anyone should attempt a 3080 on this psu though. but I haven't done the math tbh.

Tried to upgrade the video card this past weekend.
1. EVGA GeForce RTX 3070 FTW3 ULTRA GAMING, 08G-P5-3767-KR - Will NOT fit. It's physically too long.

2. EVGA GeForce RTX 3070 XC3 ULTRA GAMING, 08G-P5-3755-KR - Will fit, but it's a very tight squeeze. The card will not latch in the PCIE x16 socket, the metal backplate prevents the type of latch used on this motherboard from working. The backplate hits the latch, it needs a cutout to work. However, the card does seat all the way in and functions without issue. You may want to rig up some kind of support on the case lid, like a foam block that would prevent the card from rising out of the slot.

the 11th gen CPU is limited to 3200mhz.

So can I replace the current 16GB 2933mhz with 2*16 3200mhz ?

the chipset is H470 but it says the memory speed is limited by the CPU not the chipset. is it correct ?
Processor limited to 2933. System comes with 3200Mhz memory.

I haven't look lately for 3xxx series but I look for special shorter compact cards for my T3500 so I went from a Zotac GTX 970 to a 2060 Super in it. Just sold my 2060 Super on the fence picking this rig up, or wait for Alienware R10 to come back at this price but with rtx 3060 and less powerful CPU. I am on the fence as I realize this CPU is roughly 2x speed of my Xeon w3670 at half the power consumption, but most things are very similar as I already run a decent SSD (albeit SATA3), wifi-6 PCIe card, and I'd lose my blu-ray burner....not that I been burning BDs.

Just wait for the better GPU deal if you don't need a computer now. I'm riding out the absurd GPU pricing with my 1070gtx.

Yeah long story short, last week when I had to restore my machine 3x in the last few months for Win 10 and I got tired of it, and I think the complaint was something hardware related, but no time to really troubleshoot so I was going to use that excuse to finally upgrade from a Westermere CPU LOL. When I tell ppl I have a CPU from 2014 they are surprised. My gaming ins't intensive, games I play ran even in 4K on med to high settings and everything runs super smooth (to me) in 1440p. The 6 core was needed when I started doing heavier Adobe LR batch work so ging from an i7-930 to the w3670 helped along with SSD. Anyhow, I bout a RTX 2060 super last year because that's the most my current rig can support and while i saw some increase in frame rate, it's painfully obvious CPU is my bottleneck.BUT, is it worth another $600+ to me to end up with the same GPU, I don't know. If this came with rtx 3060 , even if slightly marginal "upgrade" from 2060s, I would have preferred it. So I reverted back to my gtx 970 and sold my 2060s from a year ago for after fees, about $30 profit lol.

If the 3.5 hard drive bay is in the way, you could remove that and if that's not enough you can make a cut out on the front metal panel.

I think benchmarking the 2060 super vs 3060 (non Ti) the 2060 super is faster by quite a bit.
https://gpu.userbenchmark.com/Com...4090vs4049

Meh. Doesn't look like that's the case. 2060 Super is still decent, but quite a bit behind the 3060Ti. Not to mention, all 30-series will have much better ray tracing than 20-Series.

And do the work that lets you post these kinds of comments. Or more specifically, takes your user information, builds a profile, and markets things to you. Don't need GPU for that. Just ram and cpu.

Oh yeah. For sure behind 3060ti. But not fully the case for 3060.

Costco has an XPS8940 with i7-11700, 32GB (2x16GB), 512GB M2, 1TB HDD and an RTX3060 Ti for $1599. You do get an extra year of support as well. But $1600 is still a little steep I think, however in today's market its not a bad deal on an RTX3060 Ti build.

Compare it to this build and you get an extra 16GB (120) and an RTX3060 Ti
1100 + 120 = 1220, is the RTX3060 Ti really worth 380 more than the 2060? eBay has them selling for 1100, so that's right about even with this build value wise.
4 years of warranty if you use your Costco Citi. I did this for my XPS8910 SE almost 4 years ago. Dell called me up 6 months after I bought it ( I did register it) and was adamant that I should upgrade warranty before it was too late. I said I have 4 yrs through Costco, I'm good. Still very adamant. Kept trying to talk over me and I politely hung up on her mid sentence and amazingly haven't heard back.

Dell is truly a warranty sales company. lol

Great peace of mind getting from Costco though. Wasn't even a bad price then either ($1,100: i7-6700K, 16gb RAM, 2TB HDD, GTX1070).
