I got mine 2 years ago for $29. It's been fine and versatile. They do what they say on the box and don't give problems.
Having used this interface for a year; I will tell you that this is not officially supported by windows 10 or Behringer, Their support is awful. I've had to self troubleshoot the mic randomly stop working after a windows update 3 times in the past year and it drives you absolutely batty. Discord especially has play nice issues with this interface. (Quick google will bring up lots of repeating issues)
The headphone jack has a ton of audibly hissing/white noise at over 70% volume.
Direct monitoring works great.
It's hard to say no for 30$ but I will tell you, you get what you pay for. If you end up liking this and using it daily, its 100% worth the extra investment to get a Scarlet Solo in the long run.

I have both the UMC22 and the third generation Scarlett. To my ears, there isn't a big quality difference. Haven't personally heard the UM2 but I do have older behringer mixers with xenyx preamps and they sound OK, but the Midas pres are definitely a step up.

This 100%. I've been using it for a few years because it does what it's supposed to, but it's never been fully reliable during that time. I think I got it for $40 so even at that price (for the time I got it) I'd say it has done it's job. I'm looking at upgrading to the Scarlett soon or just throw money away like paper and pick up a GoXLR. But if $30 is your absolute max for budget, and you just need a way to hook up an XLR mic and guitar for some recording or streaming, this will do that job and do it good enough you won't be compelled to immediately upgrade.

this is worth it if you just use it as a sound card, the converter on this is probably not good enough to do anything worth while. But as a sound card it's solid, upgrade over the intergraded sound card for sure.
I'm considering this for my Windows PC to record guitar and vocals or two vocals together. Could anyone tell me - when using this does the driver present each input separately or does it all get mixed together once it leaves this box? This would be my first time owning something like this. Not sure if this is a DAW specific question or not. I'd really prefer to be able to record multiple tracks at once and edit them independently on the DAW. Thanks!
I have a 204 and 202. Pretty solid for the $ but the headphone distorts (not noise/hissing... distortion) after 12 o'clock. Fairly inexcusable in this day and age of high quality components. Just poor design.
Can you use this with an iPad with the lightning/camera adapter? If so, do you have to power this with an adapter too?
Thanks!
It's likely class compliant, which means you probably can, but will not work/or be unreliable without a source of power other than the iPad. so you need to get a wall powered USB hub too. The nice thing there is you can use more than one USB thing, like a keyboard, mic, etc.
I think the newer M-Audio M-Track Solo was rated same or better. It's $50. Has phantom power if you need it. Comes with a lot of beginner software and samples too.

I hate using that lightning adapter with the ipad pro. It always complains that it does not get enough power. That's with everything. It's so cumbersome to deal with Apple and the dongles. I've used it with my surface to go and never had an issue. Maybe I'll try it with my wife's iPad pro with USB c
I've had this for a few years now. I was a little disappointed that I couldn't get the software that supposedly came with it and customer service was nonexistent. Previous to this, I use as couple of them audio devices. One was an entry level n audio solo type kit and the other was an m audio interface that was their highest end wanting to work with pro tools in MAudio version. That one beat the pants off of this one, but I haven't had any issues with it. I like those compact and I've been able to use it with my surface go for recordings and interviews with people.

No, from what I've been able to find it's 16bit.
