HEC PSUs used to blow up 10 years ago (Thermaltake TR2 Units were infamous) but it seems they improved quality control/engineering.

JohnnyGURU (Established PSU guru/corsair employee) considers it passable and uses a similar (Not 100% the same) platform for the CX-F

The 550w G3 (Superflower) deal was better ($40), but this is probably the next best thing for the EVGA sale PSUs on amazon. Especially if you need 650w for an average "mid range" Ampere/Navi.

Avoid the GA Series. Has poor voltage regulation and fails at modern efficiency test according to him. G5 isn't bad, but the GT seems better due to modern topology.

In terms of "gold" rating... G3/G2>GT>G5>GA. Not sure where GS rates on a relatively scale. Haven't looked into it.

The Super flower units perform like a platinum PSU on certain samples according to cybernetics independent testing, but YMMV.

What does that even mean in terms of PSU's? Like girthier?

The temperature sensor might have been covered in s...t, but it won't make any difference since it's mounted directly onto the heatsink.

That's why I never listen to anonymous wannabe gurus.

Yes, the limiting factor usually is how much power your CPU/GPU sucks up. Make sure 650w is enough for your build.

yes it will, however if you have a x570 im assuming you have more power-hungry hardware, therefore (https://www.newegg.com/enermax-80...042-000R0) may be a better choice... If you want, drop your specs down below and I'll tell you what wattage would be the best to go with.

Pc parts picker says this The MSI MAG X570 TOMAHAWK WIFI ATX AM4 Motherboard has an additional 4-pin ATX power connector but the EVGA SuperNOVA GT 650 W 80+ Gold Certified Fully Modular ATX Power Supply does not. This connector is used to supply additional 12V current to the motherboard. While the system will likely still run without it, higher current demands such as extreme overclocking or large video card current draws may require it.

i missed this deal last week, i think ill pull the trigger this time and take back my 39.99 600w evga i bought from best buy last weekend when it was on the deal of the day. this is better quality and it has a cleaner look of not using some cables if not needed vs just shoving all the cables under the power supply dock.

Good PSU if it fits your needs. If you are running 6+ cores CPU(125W +) and higher end GPU (3080 , 3090 etc.) you might need 750 -850 Watts or more PSU, depending on your system.
For a mid range system - ~60 watt CPU and mid range GPU this should be a solid choice.
I'd usually recommend at least gold PSU for efficiency and EVGA is a solid company with good customer service.
