It's cheap for a reason.
1. 57lb is very heavy, even if you dont lift it. Riding it will be harder.
2. Expect the battery or the BMS to break after short use. Then you end up with a 57lb bike without electricity and it's very hard to ride a heavy bike. Expect no support from manufacturer. Expect very hard to find "plug and play" replacement parts unless you know how to build your own e-bike.

Buy it at your own risk.

It's okay if you don't plan on carrying it anywhere, but it is 57lbs to lug around… into and out of cars, buses, trains, stairs, etc.

Not all Li batteries catch fire. LiFePO4 do not catch fire or burn. That being said most bike batteries are made with 18650s which experience thermal runaway and can catch fire.

Hmm. Seems like a pretty good price? Not sure the quality considering ebikes hit 1600 to 2500 for decent ones

What's the problem? Is it because steel is relatively heavy?

Yes, aluminum is lighter and you'd get a longer range due to the lighter weight, however steel is much more durable.

I never use aluminum anymore cause after 5 years a bike had catastrophic failure with aluminum and it broke in half. yes it's lighter but a steel bike will never kill you and it could last 50 years maybe. Besides. the electric will do most of the work so who cares?

Please never blame that on the sole reason of being "aluminum", as that is incorrect.
Using aluminum properly in bicycles has proven itself for decades.

Still riding an AL bike that is now 20+ years old.

I've probably put more miles on that one bike then you will ride in your entire lifetime.

So your aluminum bike 'broke in half' and you imply that it will kill you. Its amazing you survived! Got a steel handlebar on your steel bike? Steel seat post? Steel cranks? Steel rims? Maybe you better never get on a bike again because surely that inevitable aluminum component that is on it is going to be the death of you!

Also watch out on those ebikes. Lithium Ion batteries go up in flames...you must have heard! You'll look like a flaming dumpster fire on that steel ebike flying down the road.

I had bad milk once. I'll never drink milk ever again. Smart right?

For casual use...as this ebike is marketed towards...material doesn't matter. An Al version might save you 5 lbs. Honestly, most people would be worlds better off losing that 5 lbs from their own body if they are that concerned with the extra weight. I'd be far more concerned with the componentry. Its functional, but junky. 7 speed shimano is almost the most bottom basement stuff you can find. That means making more adjustments to keep things running smoothly. Have the (easy to learn) skills needed to keep it going, or know someone who does.

This bikes got a tiny battery (324 Wh). Don't expect grand adventure touring with it.

I do think this is a great bike for a newish rider planning to use it as a city bike and/or commute <10 mi to work. It should still manage 20mi RT on a full charge with moderate assistance. If someone steels it (sorry...pun) , you won't even have to fret too much because of how cheap it is.

As a former bike shop owner, I can tell you that steel fails just as much as aluminum. It all depends on initial quality and what you put it through.

Speaking of initial quality, if you're skittish about a bike failing on you, I see no reason to be comforted by the quality of this one.
