Correct - looking at the "Specs" tab, it comes with 1 filter.

Buying direct from costco is obviously a better deal (brand new, comes with that extra filter for 100), but this isn't too bad if you're unable to wait.
Doesn't ship to California
It can't do miracles. It's a small/medium fan connected to a hepa filter. It does what it can, you won't find another air purifier of this size (at any price level) that will be able to do much better. Maybe try replacing your carbon filter more often and manually setting it on high until you think your room is clearer.

Also it should be noted that while Costco has official filters on sale for $30 there are also generics on Amazon that are less.

If anyone can magically make the Costco one $99 again, that's great, but for today $70 is a decent difference from $130. I still might go new and Costco for that price difference, but all depends if you need one now and weren't shopping on July 4 Smilie
You could always do the price match "trick" at Costco. If you go to Costco frequently enough, just buy one now, then when goes on sale(which it does multiple times per year) buy a new one , walk out of Costco , put rest of shopping in car, walk back in Costco, return new one with old receipt, get $129 back

Ok $100- $20 is $80, but you cant compare third party generic from Amazon with Winix brand (especially as you are concerned with quality) , so you extra included Winix filter worth at least $30. So cost of new humidifier is $70 when on sale at Costco for $99 with extra filter set - if you want to buy a used refurb for $63 go head, Id rather have new for the equivalent of $7 more, plus Costco's amazing return policy
but people confirmed that they got 2 sets of filters (8x) when purchased this refurbished winix from this deal.

Purchased this air purifier from Costco with $30 coupon a week ago. It suddenly stopped working after one day of use. Two fan speed lights were blinking and the fan wouldn't start. I read the product review and some people had same problem.
Contacted Winix no help. Costco refused to replace the unit, only allowed refund. I also noticed that this air purifier is made in Thailand not Korea.
who said this is made in korea? mine is also made in thailand.

if you see this same item flooding the refurbished market (like this woot) then you would know something about their qa control.

My thought process was, I could buy two of these for $10 more than Costco price now. I get two filters and two units. Done deal.

If this is true, and you get two sets of filters (8 carbon and 2 Hepa) then yes it is a good deal, if its 1 set, wait for Costco is better choice

I dont see that it comes with two sets on the product page. it says 1 year which is 1 set (4 carbon/1 hepa)

but I am unsubscribing, as I am solid with my purifier with filters for another 2 and half years and I get too many Slickdeal emails as it is. Good luck with your purchase!

I made myself a hillbilly HEPA filter using the method shown on this link. It's been running for about a week and I think it's helping my allergies. Very easy to move from room to room, also. Does not have WiFi, though.

i thought MERV and HEPA are 2 diff things.

so its supposed to be in front of the fan, not the back like everyone believed? he got his scientific instruction to prove it.

I think you can do it either way. I put it on the back (air intake side). I just called it HEPA. I don't know what either of those mean. LOL

you said you followed that "same" method on that link but then put in on the back? now i am even more confused. how should we trust if its even working right for you when you dont know the difference between MERV vs HEPA and front vs back.

Received mine today. It came with a single set of filters, as advertised. The unit was in like-new condition but I had to reset the filter life as it was currently set to 65%. After resetting it shows the newly installed filter at 100% as it should.

How do you know what it is set to? Just wondering.

The winix app you use to set it up lists this info.

This unit generates ozone, which can be unhealthy, especially for people with respiratory issues. That's also why it won't ship to California, the state doesn't allow this product to be sold. Winix brands it as "Plasmawave", but it's just ozone.
