This is tempting, but the Atmos performance is known to be poor on this model.

I agree I really wanted one to match my lg tv but this model isn't any good. Sad when their 2020 model is better than their 2021.

I believe this is the 2020 model, and it was replaced in 2021 by SPY9A.

Purchased this a few months ago; the app kept unpairing (and could not be re-paired without a factory reset), the only way to change presets is with the app, and there is no good default preset that works for all forms of entertainment. Atmos performance poor, bass heavy, vocals difficult to hear under most presets. Total garbage, had to return. Bought a Sonos Arc, which is superior in every way.

Same same. For the ease of setup it cant be beat. We got ours on the last special for about this same price, maybe a bit more.

LG SN9YG is better than the Sonos Arc according to https://www.rtings.com/soundbar/t...3059/13760

Lol got SN8YG from Best Buy deal last time. It's okay. I'm sure that 9Y is better, but 8Y is better than the TV speakers lol

If I already have an SN7R, can I buy this and use the SN7R's rear speakers with this? If so, how do I pair them if they're already paired with the SN7R?

Thinking bout getting this for the living room and putting the rear-speaker-less SN7R with the guest TV.

Now that the Vizio M512a is finally available, I'd spend the extra $20 and get real rear speakers if you're considering this. RTINGS doesn't have their review up yet for it but even the cheaper Vizio M51a with virtualized height channels scores better on Atmos content (and overall) than this SN9YG.

I'm hoping we see the M512a for $400 or less before Black Friday but I'm weak and will probably end up grabbing one regardless.

edit: Omg the M512a was $300 on Amazon today and I missed it... balls.
