Hi, your friendly neighborhood watchmaker here. TLDR: the 2824 is much more abundant and will be easier/cheaper to fix and has smoother sweep seconds. The H-10 has better power reserve but cannot be regulated by just anyone, and possibly choppier looking seconds hand.

The 2824 and H-10 movements are both essentially the same movement with the H-10 being a modified C07. They are both reliable eta movements and the only difference that matters is the frequency of the oscillator (balance).

The 2824 will have a smoother seconds hand as it beats at 28.8k/hour while the H-10 beats at 21.6k/hour. The trade off in the frequency allows for the H-10 movement to run with less energy thus giving a longer power reserve from 38-42 hours up to 80 hours. Another trade off is that the watch cannot be regulated (think adjusting the +- seconds/day) traditionally and instead uses timing screws on the balance arms. Another thing to mention is that the faster an oscillator beats, the faster it recovers from shock. Say you were to bump your wrist on a door handle. The watch may stop momentarily and will need about 10 seconds to recover back to its normal frequency. This means the H-10 will recover a bit slower than the 2824 and in the long run will technically be less accurate.

There's nothing shady about Ashford. They are very clear about who they are and what they sell. In my experience with them, whether you get a factory warranty or not, Ashford will always step up and do the right thing. I've purchased many watches form them over the years. Never a problem. Odds are that an authentic Hamilton, which Ashford only sells authentic watches, will most likely not need any repair service for many years.

Too bad the green dial variant sold out. I like this color too but don't like the fact this is the 42mm version. Getting the Khaki watch for $350 is a real good deal and you get the warranty too.

TU on this deal but 42mm is too big for me. I'm still holding out for the 40mm Khaki King with the leather strap and champagne dial. A gorgeous watch.

I paid like $300 for a leather strapped khaki in 2010. Almost any Swiss automatic is worth $350.

Ashford.com repaired a watch (Citizen Eco-Drive) at no cost I suspect my SO's son dropped in the toilet.
