Best Buy has the Asus Zenbook 14 for $539.99 (normally $719.99).
Edit 7/19/21 Deal expired, back to $719.

14" FHD Display
AMD Ryzen 5 5500U
8GB LPDDR4X RAM (non-upgradeable)
256GB SSD
NVIDIA GeForce MX450
Weighs 2.91 lbs. and measures 0.66" thin

Power users will likely want more (or upgradeable) memory, but this is a well-balanced basic laptop for a good price. I recently got one for my wife and my only complaint is that the fan noise is a bit harsh.

Anyone know about factory warranty and open box models? Seems to be a little iffy.

Seems like a nice model otherwise. I don't need the graphics card but it checks my other wants

I've purchased ~20 open box laptops over the past 2 years from Best Buy - I've always had good luck. Only 1 I purchased was out of warranty and I just sent it back to Best Buy (you have 14 days no questions asked). All of the others had at least 9+ months of warranty left, which I personally thought was fair for the open box discount. Some had 11+ months left.
Short answer - there's no downside to buying open box and then checking the warranty online and deciding if it's worth it or return it.

Actually it is. Most Laptops released in last couple of years are compatible with Windows 11. The answer you have seen, is that from Asus or some random guy?

Was a answer directly from Asus. Go to best buy and look at the answered questions

Below are some details which may help people:
  • The display is a 100% sRGB 250-nits panel.
  • This is a BestBuy specific model of Asus ZenBook UM425UA.
  • The Graphics card is MX450 2GB GDDR6 12W-14W version. But it is still over 30% powerful than the best IGP offered by Intel or AMD. In real world applications and games, this MX450 can be nearly 40% faster than AMD Vega 7 in Ryzen 5 5500U
  • Ram is dual channel which is always true for LPDDR memory.
  • No headphone jack in this laptop. This one comes with a Type-C to 3.5 mm Connector in the box.

I know very well about the requirement for Windows 11 and this laptop actually has all those. The hardware is supported. Also, this has Fingerprint Reader and I know for sure that this has a TPM chip. So, why it won't be compatible? This is just a BB specific model for ZenBook UM425UA Laptop and Asus has confirmed that to be Windows 11 compatible.

Don't know dude. I'm just the messenger. Asus replied to a question and stated that it's not compatible. I'm just the messenger

Given that the hardware requirements for Windows 11 seem to be changing by the hour, I doubt any manufacturer can officially represent any laptop/desktop already out would be Windows 11 compatible. Even if it will be able to run Windows 11 eventually.

Most of the ambiguity is in the soft requirements vs hard requirements. Is TPM 2.0 (rather than TPM 1.2) a hard requirement or soft requirement (depends on which Microsoft web page or document you look at). Are officially supported CPUs (e.g., 8th generation or higher Intels) a hard requirement or soft requirement? Microsoft has said both at various times. This transition is going to be one big FU. You can use the online PC W 11 compatibility check tool. But right how it gives the typical MS cryptic and useless "not compatible message" for most systems without saying why.

My guess is any vendor will only officially say it is compatible for a desktop or laptop that will ship with a Windows 11 compatible sticker in the future and not for any other machine shipped before then. But they may still be able to run. If the installer is crippled to not install W11 on a not officially supported configuration, I am sure somebody will provide the hack to make it install and then it will run happily.

I have attached the latest version of Windows 11 hardware requirements. TPM 2.0 is a hard requirement in this document that will rule out many of the systems with TPM 1.2. But that could change any time….Roll Eyes (Sarcastic)

So no one can say for certain. Not even for currently sold Surface devices.

Open box excellent is tempting. Shame about the 8gb of non upgradable ram. Though I guess with a discrete GPU that wouldn't a huge issue.

thanks - so there's nothing set in stone that BB can tell you, it seems. You have to buy the open box and then contact the manufacturer to see how much warranty is left?

Would be a steal if the ram was truly upgradeable!!
BB has the ram listed as "Total Storage Capacity16 gigabytes" but seeing it has LPDDR4X which is soldered, I am assuming this is a mistake on BB Frown

Yeah I'm not sure where they got that number, but I can confirm it's got 8GB of RAM and 256GB of NVMe storage.
