Subway apparently closed a lot of stores today to train their workers for a new menu overhaul. A lot of articles online say they're giving away a million sandwiches tomorrow to promote the new menu.
I am very disappointed in the purchase I made today. I ordered two Footlong All-American Clubs for $10 and each had extremely little meat. Probably just two slice of meat on the subs. I wouldn't even pay $5 for a sub like that. Goodbye Subway!
I think it's supposed to be 4 slices of meat for 6 inch, 8 for foot long. Sounds like they made it wrong.
I get that concept and that they make up some of that with products that have higher profit margins but I think this is more being willing to lose some money on subs to get people to come in and try their revamped menu and they hope that will help invigorate sales and bring more return customers after the sale is over. They are hurting.
How do the stores make any money when it's B1G1 free for six weeks?

Selling the sub at b1g1 is not the only sale the store will make. Gaining volume of sales will lead to more drink sales, chips, full-priced sandwiches, etc.

The thing that sent us away was when they stopped having sliced Cheddar available as a topping. We're talking possibly the most popular sandwich cheese in the United States, if not the world, and Subway decided it wasn't something they wanted to support? We stopped going right then. If the "Big Changes" had brought it back, we'd have come back... but oh well. 😏

That has been the case for decades and it's ruined the franchise.
Yeah I been to two locations and one at Walmart clearly used not so fresh ingredients. The other one tho was a bit better. But it feels like my local grocery store has $5 for Italian sun, yeah it doesn't offer customization but fresher comparing to subway.

Footlong Oven roasted chicken breast went up from $7.69 to $8.99 in my area, I asked the employees if they are all making $12-$15 hour now and they all laughed i guess meaning NO.
