I got 2 of these before and both of them won't connect to wifi properly, it's a well documented issue on the forums and reviews. I used 5g, 2.4g, a guest network and tinkered with settings, couldn't get it to work. I figured other people were goofing on their tech side, but guess not. They have a new version of this one, and it works flawlessly. Connects to wifi without issue. Get that one instead.

Not on sale, but only thing that worked for me.

or if you are on a budget like me, just buy the $30 2K one, with $10 enclosure and regular motion floodlight (or without motion).

( + ) cost less and upgrade/replacement of parts is fordable.
( - ) looks not so nice, can't control the lights from app.

He meant a $10 enclosure that you can actually buy that covers the floodlight camera. Your $12 example is for Amazon cloud cam so no use but the picture from imgur is incredible and exactly what we're looking for, can you send a link for around 10 bucks for that one?

that cover sold for $9 and sometimes sells for south of $20 for 2. go back and look to the right of the link for step-by-step

Just wondering, are they not fixing the old version? So, if the new version 2 has an issue, are they not going to fix it and just coming out with version 3? Company that does not stand behind their products won't last long in business.

Customer support is non existent online, just other people trying to help others. To me it's fixed with version 2 (the one I linked).

I'm already too deep into their ecosystem. I don't want more than 1 app to see my security devices. Most everything else is manageable.

I bought one of these back during one of the Home Depot clearance deals. One of the LED spotlights burned out at 13 months (1 month past the warranty period). Not easily repairable that I can see unless I can find another one to use for parts. Customer support basically told me "not repairable, we don't sell parts, buy a new one."

Camera still works fine and it's under a porch overhang so it wasn't exposed to weather that much. Didn't have any issues with the wifi like some.

I'd be hesitant to buy even the 2nd gen 2K one as the floodlights still look like they are the same design.

Yep. I did the same thing. I installed my indoor camera outdoors and it's been great for several months. Records longer than my wireless ones and in higher quality
