i mean if you've played it through 4 times in the past on each system do you really need it a 5th time on a new system?

I bought from PlayAsia just to get both games on the cartridge. Decent price here if you don't care.

Yeah, I too am annoyed by this "one game on cartridge, rest is download" thing -- because in particular you don't actually get a complete "digital purchase" of the game that's downloaded. You still need to have the "cartridge" in the system to play, which is really the worst of both worlds. One thing that's making me start to move to digital more, especially on something like a Switch, is that I don't need to carry a case of 10-20 cartridges, and swap 'em in. But if I've got to insert the cart, and also use 10-20GB of download space, then it just seems silly.

I don't know why they do this (in the U.S. in particular). I think it's because the base cartridge is cheaper (it's similar to the microSD, and so of course a 16GB costs them less than a 32GB or a 64GB card would) Also by making you download you are kind-of tracked by their digital system anyway, except, as I said, without the digital benefit of being able to "pick-up-and-play" anytime without digging for the cartridge, assuming you even have it with you on the trip with your "portable."

I had this on my wish list for so long... it's finally on GamePass and so I tried it out only to be very let down. The remaster seems really dated now IMO. It might be fun on a Switch screen but PC/Xbox... meh.

I know it's probably more of a nostalgia thing now and people who loved it back in the day won't care about how old it feels. I have those kinds of games too. To each their own. 😁

Edit: I do have to day, though, Nintendo pricing on "deals" is nostalgic as well. X/X2 remaster has been this price for YEARS on other systems.

I just wish these games had cross-save, even if I know that's too complex/expensive to implement for games this old...

Yes. FFX was a good game. I would wager that most people that have played it through have done so several times. I think the switch version has "speed up" or whatever to make grinding less numb.

Yeah, Nintendo traps devs into buying cheap carts because they charge so much. I didn't know about the downlad and needing the cartridge in the Switch, wow that's lame.

The trick is to not sell your old consoles. I bought it one time 20 years ago for the PS2. I still play it on my PS2 when I feel the need.

I already own this on PS2, the big collector's PS3 version, the PS4 collector's version, and on Steam. Why do I feel the urge to buy this again???

Don't,
ps2 version is still considered the best by many due to rewamped faces in remasters for worse, especially Tidus

Are there any cheat codes for switch so you can get through the chocobo races? They are frustratingly difficult/near impossible and always stop me from finishing the game because you cant get the celestial weapons
