My absolute favorite...
- Fry a couple of strips of bacon until they're crispy, and chop them up into tiny bits.
- Make the sauce packet with heavy cream and butter (and a splash of whole milk)... and mix in 1/4 cup of parmesan, 1/4 cup of cheddar
- Add a pinch of white pepper and a tsp of yellow mustard powder
- Whisk it all up under heat until it's a smooth sauce
- add the bacon (and the bacon fat from frying) and whisk it in
I swear, you won't get a better mac & cheese anywhere...

I've been wanting to try Annie's again for awhile, the first time I had it a few years ago it was awful and I could never tell if I'd done something wrong (like used spoiled milk) or if it was supposed to taste that way.

Do I need to say the obvious?

Will try with bacon and bacon grease. Maybe it will help with cleanup, and you know bacon added to most things always helps.

That being said, they updated the recipe for the classic cheddar, and anything else listed as "yummier than ever" and it's pretty much garbage. No better than Kraft. Lots of amazon reviews mention this, so I'm not just an outlier.
So far, the white cheddar has been spared, but buyer beware!
